Silent Hill 2 PC

Yep. Added it yesterday.

I have VRR off for now but might turn it back on to do a comparison.

I am actually surprised, not seen a single tear having it off.

Have you turned off vsync too in NVCP etc.?

Yeah, but image quality suffers in motion unfortunately. 80fps does not cut it with FG.

Focus around James's head as you move the camera around, you will see it.

I will just use my OC profile which gets me to 60fps and cap it there and use that.

Using my PS5 controller anyway so 60fps is fine.

Oh yeah defo seem some artifacting but so much smoother (latency isn't bad either) and more enjoyable

mrk when he see's that

@mrk is a controller snob now :p

Got to an area where vrr flicker is bad so disabled gsync etc. and solved now. There is now screen tearing but very hard to notice unless you are looking for it on street poles etc. thanks to 240hz refresh rate..... The screen tearing is less noticeable than vrr flicker anyway. The sooner nvidia and mediatek get that new gsync scaler out in monitors, the better! Won't have to put up with this crap peasant tier of vrr/adaptive sync!

So, you buying the game? Or waiting for me to do further beta testing? :p

Probs in a month or so tbh. The problem is the longer I wait the more I think well I might as well wait even longer cuz it's just going to get cheaper.

Just got to woodside apartments :D

I need to start avoiding some fights. Built up a nice stash of first aid. Could have run away from quite a few fights but insisted on killing everything, now I have no first aid left

Stream stub is up:

I'm really unsure on this one, new setting etc. That Last Message game they put out on PS5 was rubbish, it just didn't feel at all like a Silent Hill game, reminded me of a Temu Outlast game. Konami have so many great IPs and they squander too many opportunities for great sequels or remakes. Surely Silent Hill 2 sold well enough for their board to open up to similar style games. I would really like to see a return to Survival Horror roots for new games of the series, Resident Evil got it right with their remakes. Silent Hill 2 remake was amazing. It can be done, in a new game or remake, but Konami really need to seriously consider remaking 1 and 3 via Bloober as well. Hopefully we get to learn more tonight and see some game play (I will happily eat my words!)

Live in a few mins...

Edit, well this is going to be rather awesome.

I reckon Silent Hill 2 remake was a test bed to see how well SH can be done in UE5 since f has been in dev for a few years now. Given the current state of SH2R, SHf should look and run equally amazingly.
