What film did you watch last night?

Kingdom of Heaven - 7/10
(Directors Cut/Roadshow version - 4K)

I enjoyed a lot of the film. The fight scenes and any scene with the leper king is great as are Liam Neeson and Eva Green. But Orlando Bloom is awful along with Martin Csokas (my god, man) and Brendan Gleeson who are just so hammy and OTT in their acting, it’s incredibly cringe.

After watching Predator Killer of killers. I wanted to rewatch Prey 2022. It's been a few years and forgotten how decent it was. Probably the best Predator movie in recent times. In comparison to Shane Blacks latest awful attempt .The screenplay was good with some solid acting from Amber Midthunder who surprisingly carried the movie well. There was some far fetched moments but it's a Sci Fi.

Solid 8/10 for me.

Deadwood: The Movie (2019)

After persuading my wife to watch the TV show, after I'd seen it years ago, we finished with the film last night.

If you enjoyed the show then it's better than nothing, after it was cancelled. But the story feels too rushed and should've been fleshed out into the originally planned two films, at the very least. Some characters bearly get a look in and they're just there as lip service rather then adding anything to the plot. The cast and the viewers deserved better than this and there's certainly nothing here for anyone that hasn't been invested in the TV show.

4/10

Went to the cinema for a one night only showing of 28 weeks later, ready for 28 years later.

Was surprised how busy it was. As I'd only seen this film once before, I'd forgotten most of it other than the pretty grim beginning. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Quite a few jump scares too although I think that was mainly down to the volume it was playing at

Same I just watched both days and weeks as well. Got tickets booked this Friday. Can't wait.

Watched Until Dawn and actually enjoyed it.
Some pretty good deaths and atmospheric sets with an ok if not very original story.
Much better than i thought it was going to be.
6.5/10

Clown in a Cornfield. Nothing special but I've seen a lot worse. I sussed out what was going on early in the film as it was pretty well telegraphed.

Copycat. Not seen this since the 90s and it was still a good film for me. I do like Holly Hunter and love her voice/accent, peak for me was her somewhat exaggerating her accent in Raising Arizona.

Tornado (2025)

What a pile of rubbish, was seriously close to walking out.

I am Tornado!!! - yeah it was disappointing considering the cast. Low budget and terrible story doesnt help. No idea what they were trying to do.

Was funny when they went into that modern building with radiators and double glazing haha.

SISU, absolutely bonkers but good fun. Is he John Wicks dad or something?
:p
I saw this at the cinema and enjoyed it, but I think there should have been something to explain how unbeatable he was, the only thing that I could come up with would be him being blessed by a norse god, after they took the gold

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw - 7.5/10

A perfectly serviceable action film, elevated by the chemistry between the cast members. Some fun set pieces, a bunch of amusing dialogue and a spot of good wholesome violence.
