What film did you watch last night?

Deep cover. Surprisingly enjoyable gangster/action/comedy. 7/10.

Just watched this myself last night and I would give the same 7/10.

Plot is silly, but the (almost) entirely British cast of semi known faces do a great job and there are loads of funny moments. Also, Bryce Howard Dallas :D
I would watch a sequel to this.

rp2000

Dr Strange and the Multiverse of Madness , 6/10 , shame Elizabeth Olsen decided to cover her best assets , her eyes are quite sexy though.

28 Years Later (2025) - 7/10

It’s more of a family drama with infected creatures than a zombie film, but there’s still plenty of gore and shocking violence if not the growing sense of horror or dread you may expect.

The plot falls back on familiar ideas and isn’t scary with its slower pace, beautiful scenery and mostly peaceful travel segments but the infected do look good and gruesome.

The acting’s good and there are some iconic scenes but the action scenes, especially the one at the end, are randomly injected and seem only to be there to remind you it is a zombie film and to add some excitement.

watched Final Destination Bloodlines.
A solid entry into the franchise with a good opening setup and kills.
not the best of the series but definitely better than a few of them.
6.5\10

Strays (2023) - 5/10

A buddy road trip movie where the lead cast are all dogs.

The commitment to the theme is very well done with plenty of observations from a dog’s perspective and the lip-synching looked almost natural.

The story’s straightforward and it wasn’t as funny as I was expecting with few good jokes outside of the tons of puerile humour, but there were some good scenes and the strong moral message made it worthwhile watching.

The Amateur - 5/10

Remi Malek is a bit hit and miss for me. He was fine in this CIA conspiracy thriller but thought it was a bit meh, well made but just not original in many ways.
I watched this last night and I’d give it a solid 7. Didn’t pick my phone once which is a solid indication a film is above average.

Sinners 7.5/10
Good fun and entertaining. Sound was excellent and so was the sets.

Accountant 2
5/10
Berthnal saved it and made it watchable.

Sheroes.

Thought i would give it a watch as i had never heard of it. Wish i had not bothered 1/10.

Within the first 10 minutes i was hoping they would all be killed off and the movie would finish early.

Deep Cover - 7.5/10

A more than serviceable crime caper. An excellent cast, and some genuine laugh-out-loud moments.

Subservience - cookie cutter as it gets but flashes off dumb entertainment! What husband would be thinking it would be a good idea to get a bot that looked like that and what wife/partner would allow that? Fox did look quite hot though. 5/10

G20 - my wife did not seem impressed when trying to sell this to her but she loved it. It's also dumb but we enjoyed it. 6/10.

Becky (on Prime): 7/10
While browsing Netflix I found Wrath of Becky but a couple of minutes in it was clearly a sequel of something. Prime had the previous film, a decent little home invasion/revenge film about a 13 year old girl.

Will try the sequel this week.
