Who actually has a magic keyboard here for their ipad pro, and do you find yourself using it much?
I saw a deal on a used one for my M4 13 last night and just decided to go for it, but will take a few days to arrive. The condition looked great, apart from 2 small indents on the base, which dropped the price to no-brainer levels for me (£105).

Sort of expecting that I will just connect it and barely use though, so wanted to see if anyone does actually use theirs.
I've been using iPadOS 26 since the first developer beta I could install came out, and I've found myself using the multi-window stuff way more than I ever did before. It feels like it's nearly time to use this as a laptop replacement.

I pretty much never use my iPad Pro without it - also have the M4 13" and for me it's just a superior experience with the magic keyboard attached. I use it for a stand too, so it's multifunctional for me.

I hadn't used the new magic keyboard until the other day, when I went in by an Apple store on the way home. I specifically wanted to see how heavy it made the whole package, and was very surprised how light it was. After that, I couldn't help but trawl the used app.
I don't think I could ever justify the cost of the 13" keyboard new, but going by the used app seems there are a lot of people who buy it and regret. Good deals to be had. :D

I've kept mine in quite a chunky cover up to now, and did the same with my previous pro. The weight was not massively different, and I'm also looking for the improved stand functionality.

Exactly the same for me.

What I will say is when it does come time to upgrade it’s going to be a sore one as I’ll have to get the MK.

Hi all, I’m considering upgrading my sons iPad from a 9th Gen to a iPad Pro. He loves to draw, so an Apple Pencil is a must.

I am unsure whether to go for a m2 iPad Pro, or m4? I read there were changes to the pencil or something like this.

The OG pencil works up to 10th gen iPad (current) and the A16.

iPad Pro 2nd gen (we are currently on the 5th and 1st of the 13”) and the 10.5 pro. It doesn’t work with any 11” models.

The updated pencils, there’s 3. The pro and the 2nd gen are both priced at £129 from Apple (I’ve no idea why they’re the same price. They shouldn’t be. Pro is better has more features for drawing) work and the cheaper usb-c (basically an updated OG) is £79 will all work with the models after those above. So you’ll need a new pencil. As he’s drawing with it, the pro is with the feedback is probably worth it.

As he’s going to be drawing with it as the main function it’s better to go for the pro pencil but for the actual ipad I’d go for the air over the pro and save good amount.

As for the size that’s down to personal preference. If it’s going to be used out and about the 11’’ would be better. Mainly in the house I’d go for the 13’’.

*edit*

Air is M3 and £400 cheaper.

Well boo, I dropped my 2023 iPad Pro onto a tiled floor last night, it landed on the corner and has left me with a cracked screen. It's mostly the corner that's taken the damage but there's a few cracks over the screen. It still works but one small area definitely doesn't have the same touch response.

On the plus side, excuse to get a new one! Let's see if Apple announce something new and then I'll treat myself to a new 13" iPad Pro.

Every cloud!

Do you not have apple care?

Nope. Never bothered with Apple Care but in the 16 years of using using Apple mobile devices this is the first one I've damaged.

Same.

It's in a case, but one of those magnetic folio cases that evidently give zero protection right on the corner of the device. It landed on the corner, not on the screen so there's a dent there and I think that dent is what upset the screen.

Well, those corner drops can be an PITA.
