I am guessing the package would still have CGNAT. would need next tier which would be 5GB. But who the hell needs that kind of speed

I dont see why not, a lot of the time its just a lottery on who picks up and how kind they feel. There's been a few occasions where I've called up my provider, they've refused to do anything and then I call up a few hours later and the person who picks up offers an upgrade or discount.

Agree. Those playing around with AI would likely find the larger pipeline useful as models, etc get updated. Much of them number in double digit in GB size these days and the need of various ones as well. So those and other media content creators/editors will likely want that.

Here's a tip, try to call towards the end of the day to coincide with when the phone operators day tends to finish. They're usually in a rush to leave so just say yes to everything to get it over and done with quicker out of laziness

Not sure they'll do that for the CGNAT situation, due to the limited amounts of pure IP4 addresses left that they have that can be offered. They do have some in reserve (Still), but it's offered for specific reasons only and likely needs someone higher up (who would have left earlier) to authorise it. I did get my normal IP4 back (it's mostly a super sticky addy rather than a fully static one from what I can see) but it involved contacting a few different departments and letting them know that the IP4 addy is utilised for services that involves a family members health and safety, so they reattached it back onto my connection in my case because of the fluff up initially (12 months turned off on a 24 month contract and no prior notification at all). But otherwise, it's normally reserved for the higher tier connections.

I was referring to getting discounts and upgrades! I agree the CGNAT situation is completely different.

The home packages not running CGNAT appear to have sticky addresses while not fixed, but using dynamic dns should be enough for most home users who want to do things such as VPN in etc, you could run other services on it using CNAME entries etc.

For a proper fixed address you need business package and last time I checked the costs were much much higher.

Aww nuts, I renewed my contract couple months ago. Although saying that I can't even take advantage of more than 1gb anyway with my home network, so even if I got the double speeds I'll need to spend more on switches and other things...

They claim it's cheaper than roaming with the main providers, but when compared to Airalo, Holafly, etc. it's more expensive.
