Seasonic to launch PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition power supply

The GPU connector is the main difference. It had a slight redesign and the 3.1 spec - so it's safer than the one from 3.0 although the safety feature's mostly from the cable itself I believe, so might be possible to get same benefit from using a newer cable for the older 3.0 spec - but if you don't want the hassle of finding out the hard way it isn't, the 3.1 is guaranteed to be safer vs potential unknowns with the 3.0. This PSU also has 2x those GPU cables and ports, I am unsure if that is part of ATX 3.1 spec or just this PSU, but that's something here on this PSU; 3.1 also has a higher hold up time on the voltages it gives out vs 3.0, although other than spikes of outtages, I'm not sure what that's useful for.
tnx mate. I didnt know about the ATX 3.0 and 3.1 change tbh first I heard of it.

This is what I dug up on the CORSAIR site.

pretty much what you said.
Connections are shortened PSU side I guess ( and VGA side ), to make it safer?
Cables are unchanged.
Hold up time is 12ms compared to 17ms? Which results in better PSU efficiency>

There doesn't seem to be any Seasonic psu of this class on sale in UK....
I think once the Noctua one came out, people weren't interested in the normal Seasonic 3.1 one over here, and the 3.0 were basically being stopped in production for the 3.1 versions. So that's why there's likely little to no Seasonic 1600W 3.1 available in some regions of the world. Also, Seasonic appears to have a 2000W+ version coming out soon, so I think they (Seasonic) were happy to let Noctua hold the 1600 market region and they moved to the higher wattage ones instead.

We don't know if they'll continue to work together, as this current 1600W model uses a modified A12x25 for the fan, and we know the G2 of that fan are coming soon and the A14x25 G2 versions are already out, so we may have one of those available too at some point, but all that potential collab is just theory at the moment.

Looks like lower end rated PSU's from a Noctua rebadge, from 1200W and down but in a MUCH smaller PSU form factor to compliment this higher end PSU. Using their newer (unreleased for now) A12x25 G2's to keep them cool. Also looks like Platinum rated and not Titanium rated, although I don't think people really care once you reach Platinum rating anyway.

Just ordered one of these today. Currently running a Corsair AX1000 titanium, but as my build is silent the AX1000 is the loudest part of the machine when gaming. Hopefully with the TX1600 i can run games without the psu fan turning on.

I don't think mines ever turned on whilst gaming, when I did turn it on with the switch just to see how loud it was, I couldn't hear it compared to my old PSU where I knew the fan was on.

I've had it installed for a couple of weeks and glad i did. Custom sleeved cables are nice and the 90 degree 24pin adaptor was an added bonus (i had looked at buying one recently). But the most important for me is that i haven't heard the fan spin up even when gaming fully loaded on an OC 5090. My setup is so quiet that the AX1000 under load was the loudest part of the pc.
