Maybe so that the information provided by the ID can be displayed without having to dig into all the other PI data? (Speculating here, because I don't know). Is the new ID needed? I don't know. Is it something to resist? I haven't seen a reason for that. Would it be good for my wife not to have to generate a new document every time she needs to prove right to work or residence? Yup.I'll submit if they already know all that (and I agree they do) then why is this new ID needed?
Already the removal/expiry of the BRP has caused unnecessary admin headaches for us as it really wasn't communicated well, and employers were questioning her right to be employed because the expiry date of the BRP did not coincide with the expiry date of her visa.
