The Fairchild Ghost. Subwoofer project.

I think it will be more than enough tbh. I literally sit next to it.

Im also planning another sub. And am going to use passive radiators.

OK so it is all painted and the grille is done. The grille needs the inner corners tidying. Probably with a lighter tbh. Was very hard to work with.

Off home tomorrow. Sunday is holiday, so I will see you all in a couple of weeks.
enjoy your break!

And back.

Had a great holiday as usual* which kicked off perfectly. Before we left we went straight to Burger King and had the Wagyu burger. It's awesome :D

I'm now at the end of the mound of washing but can't get back to this until Thurs.

What I am trying to do is get my flat spring fresh and then work on my PC for a couple of days. I need to clean it so I can do nothing for a few days (which I will once I start taking it apart) but not neglect anything so I then have to spend days catching up. Get ahead, if that makes sense.

*my holidays are very predictable. My mates all live where I go so we have a meal night, day meet ups and a LAN night. So yeah I've never not enjoyed one. What did happen is the place I go to stuffed the price up £300. So like £800 for 5 nights ffs. When I got there they had this totally hideous marble reception.

That peed me off enough to look into Premier Inn. I've now fully booked and paid for a double room @£400. In a town that's every bit as lovely (Highcliffe) and only 2 miles out.

Thats going to be a real luxury. Like saying "oh yeah I've already paid" next year when I get set to go. It also means restaurant every night which is nice.

Well I do apologise.

It seems two tier man decided to start lashing out threats of fines to online image hosting and thus what you now see in all of my threads is the above. Apparently the companies have just blocked access from the UK as they don't like being threatened. Can't say I blame them really.

That is something I didnt consider about losing that website, an enormous amount of history now gone from threads like this and 1000s of others!

Yeah it sucks. Seems no matter what you do these days politics will pee you off

I've done the edge trim. Next up wrapping . Pics in a bit.

OK. So I think I forgot to actually post about the edge trim.. MDF edges are notoriously hard to get a nice finish on. Mostly as they are like, furry. I also realised that they are a mil or two off due to that problem I had with dragging the cabinet into shape. As such I had this idea...

I had a mitre box I bought by accident. I thought it was full size, turns out it was puny. Perfect for this then.

I just need this.

Wrapping should commence tomorrow.

You gonna paint the trims or leave wood finish? Part of me feels like raw metal might look nicer but I guess depends on what is in keeping with the rest of it :)

Nice to see you stopped laying about and got back to work… He he

LFG !

Trim.

So that is the white wood grain done. Sides and bottom.

Front.

Back.

Stand him up.

Will get back to it Thurs where I will perma mount the top trims.

Here, you've done that wrap wrong. I've done some and you're supposed to leave ragged edges where two parts meet or you get to a corner! ;) :D

Hah!

I've had much practice.

Back in the 90s I knew a guy who owned arcades. He used to sell me old jamma cabs that were very tatty for silly money (like £30).

I then had a guy across the street from me who worked at a printing company and sold me vinyl wrap for peanuts (a few beers so like £10).

So I'd wrap them, tart them up then sell them on Loot for much profit.

Non picture update.

Its pretty much done. I was told last minute that my brother was coming next Saturday and so I had 4 hours to prep it for transport. This involved folding cardbord around every edge and corner, bubble wrap and then black clingfilm.

It almost killed me lol.

It will be here next Saturday and should get built a few days after.

That wrap looks amazing - wish I could get it to look that neat! Do you ever have issues with pealing? One of my projects had the base board wrapped, and it pealed after a few months :(
