ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-E GAMING WIFI owners thread***

Anyone with this mobo say how long it takes for the ethernet to connect after a reboot/power on. Mine use to connect as soon as on desktop, now I'm wating a good 30 seconds.

Mine connects right away so by the time desktop appears have internet, what Intel Lan driver version are you using?..I'm on 2.1.5.3 with latest BIOS 3265.

2.1.4.3 same bios, tried different driver same thing, I think its gone a bit wonky, this controler does have issues widely reported, WIFI connects straight away. Cheers.

Try disabling fast bootup in BIOS and see if that helps, I also have fast startup disabled for Win11 as well.

Had a lot of problems with the NIC on this board, my AM4 PC has the same NIC and never had any issues with that. I gave up and got a USB NIC and that just works.

Cheers guys, done sone testing and it connects straight away via a deco hub via ethernet to the the EE smart hub plus. So issue is the EE hub, apparently a firmware not yet released corrects it, posted by an EE rep on forum's.

"1. Updated AGESA to ComboAM5 PI 1.2.0.3f.
2. Enhanced system performance, stability, device compatibility, and overclocking support.
Before running the USB BIOS Flashback tool, please rename the BIOS file (SB650EE.CAP) using BIOSRenamer"

Mine installed fine.

I just updated, fine so far. I have left the iGPU on this time as I want to try and use it for media playback. The dGPU uses ~40W for YouTube/Netflix, the iGPU looks to use ~10W so probably ~10W saving after everything, maybe?

I did a little Google search and found more info on the Agesa version.

AGESA ComboAM5 PI 1.2.0.3f is a BIOS update for AMD AM5 motherboards. It focuses on improving system stability, enhancing memory support, and adding compatibility for upcoming AMD Ryzen 9000 series processors, including the "F" series with disabled integrated graphics. The update also includes security fixes, particularly addressing the fTPM vulnerability.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • New CPU Support:
The update adds support for upcoming AMD Ryzen 9000 series processors, including the "F" series (e.g., Ryzen 7 9700F) which lack integrated graphics.

  • Enhanced Memory Support:
AGESA 1.2.0.3f improves compatibility and support for higher capacity RAM modules, potentially up to 256GB (4x64GB).

  • Security Fixes:
The update continues to address the fTPM vulnerability, which was previously addressed in earlier 1.2.0.3 versions.

  • Overall Stability and Performance:
The update also includes general improvements to system stability, device compatibility, and overclocking support.

Side Note: I updated my LAN ethernet driver to 2.1.5.4 a week or so ago as well.

I see the Wireless and BT drivers have been updated on the Support site (they've been up elsewhere since July - and those have worked well for me)
However, the wireless driver on the Support site gets flagged as a virus on my side - anyone else?

Driver details:

MediaTek WiFi Driver v3.4.0.1329 for Windows 10/11 64-bit.

Downloads fine for me - no virus detected. Using Firefox. I checked on Chrome too and that downloads fine.

Stuck on a red led on boot after attempting to swap GPU. Put old GPU back in and same issue.

Cleared cmos, tried bios flashback and tried multiple bios versions.

Red led seems to be a cpu issue.

Tried cpu / ram / GPU in another board and all working fine.

Tested board outside case with just bare essentials and same.

Only difference I’ve noticed is when doing bios updates on some bioses cpu would remain cold and stuck on amber. Probably indicating bios not suitable (9800x3d)

Not sure what else to do, tried loosening and tightening the retention bracket as read that could be a issue.

You on latest BIOS update? Can you get into BIOS and load BIOS defaults?

I would take CMOS battery out for awhile then put it back in and try booting up.

I would also replace the CMOS battery(only a few quid) for a new one to rule out a dead battery as well.

Does anyone know what thickness the thermal pads are on the m.2 heatsinks is on this board. I ordered 70x22x1.5mm looks a bit thick maybe I should have gone for 1 mm?
