——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

mm reaper was saying he raised his sharpness to 75/80 on the 5080

but we all react to things differently

I also found playing on High had a lot less visual clutter but that was on beta so just defaulted to it on release

Does everyone get the CPU issues, or is just specific ones?
Not sure but me and MRK both have the same CPU (12700k) and for whatever reason his was affected but mine wasn't.

I applied the fix and it made no difference, although I didn't have a problem to begin with; just wanted to see what difference it would make.

It's an odd one.

The depressing downers in this thread WTF. This is the best FPS we've had in years. Some people are just never satisfied

It's just expectation - it's not quite what it should be given the hype and no doubt huge resources put into making it.

Anyone else think the vehicles handle weird? Maybe my memory is faulty, I haven't really played BF properly since 3

One nitpick to add

I love attack helis.
But the way they spawn right now leads to 90% cases of single pilot without a gunner. And predictably die in 30 sec.
In 4 days I have seen one (1) enemy attack heli surviving and harassing long enough to make a difference. Zero on my side. And this is where barely any engis carry AA missiles.

Unlike transport helis, only squad members can spawn in it, even as you parked are waiting on spawn I think.
Transport helis make a ton of difference, to get to rooftops and zones behind enemy lines. And since the door gunners on it are barely effective, nobody makes a concerted effort to shoot them down. And they spawn relatively quickly

Jets are even less noticeable, just making noise and mostly spectacularly crashing next to you

I did a few hours of play last night in a squad with my son, me on PC and he's on PS5, and I found some frustrating stuff on my side.
  • It often felt my gun was firing blanks - so many times I'm multi click burst firing zoomed in on opponents and it appears like nothing is happening. Felt like I should have got the kill but didn't.

  • I was getting shot and killed when clearly behind a wall and out of line of sight. This happened many times. I would retreat to cover behind a wall and then die with the red outline of the person that killed me a long way behind the wall.

Overall we are liking it so far.
We are both completely new to Battlefield so there is lots to learn but getting there

Like this?

That's what i'm getting, a lot....

I'm getting about 80% CPU usage, Ryzen 5800X, i applied the user.cfg "fix?" its made no difference, still 80% and the same performance, but i expected that and the performance is good, the game is butter smooth.... so isn't this just normal? Its a very well optimised game making use of all 16 threads, that's all it is...

Look at the frame time graph on the OSD, you don't get much flatter than that...

What GPU is it you are using? Edit sorry 7800XT..
A fellow 5800X user is saying its unplayable for him with a 5070Ti.

I never seemed to get to play in attack Heli's in BF4, you'd always have them being taken and kept by the same players all game.

One of my squad was flying on his own yesterday, he never said anything, but I noticed the space and jumped in and we ended up keeping it the whole round.

Does feel like there are a lot of unused vehicles at the moment - I've been in the mobile AA more times this week than in my whole time on BF4.

I was playing Battlefield V this week and my GPU reaches 40% usage and my CPU reaches 75-90% usage and I get fps drops from my 157 fps cap to around 110 and it's horrible

My FPS range from 180 to 110, but that's the full range of performance and my GPU is always at 95% +

Also he's talking about BF5, not BF6

He does have a much more powerful GPU than me, 5070 Ti vs RX 7800 XT, also, and i'm not making this in to an AMD vs Nvidia GPU argument but AMD has a much lower driver overhead than Nvidia, AMD's GPU's have a sort of 4 to 8 core CPU built in to the GPU, they are called ACE units, they are effectively CPU cores which are used for GPU thread scheduling.
Nvidia use your CPU's cores to perform the same task, taking CPU cycles away from your CPU that could be used for the game, tests show Nvidia can be as much as 40% slower than an equivalent AMD GPU when CPU bottlenecked, so a slow CPU can be that much slower on an Nvidia GPU vs an AMD one, an Nvidia GPU is probably not going to get the same level of performance i'm getting with my RX 7800 XT with the same CPU even if the GPU is much faster.

Ok, personally with a GPU like the 5070 Ti, its such a powerful GPU that i would want to upgrade the CPU to be honest, or cap the frame rates to 120, that would fix the wild FPS swings.

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.. really enjoyed the beta..TTK, hit reg etc all seemed super great... now.. emptying a full clip with hit markers to be span on and killed within 4 bullets! I'm getting old.

Good explanation of it all and makes good sense to me.
He does go into the BF6 stuff later in the thread but pretty much as you've said, I think he is at the limits of the chip with the Nvidia GPU.

getting old since beta? it is odd.. I've not played bf since 3 so I thought it was just me but it's broken, something somewhere isn't right. I'm sure it'll be fixed but interesting to see that beta was better.

good they are the bane of my life took a few out with rpgs the less helicopters I see the better

been in one as a gunner and a decent pilot was racking up kills
