Pluribus | Apple TV+

Half way through episode 4 and literally dying off boredom

This could be there last one I watch unless it sucker punches me right at the end

Man this is so slow moving 20 minutes just to cover 2 topics
Actually kinda liked 4.
She's still unlikable AF but now seems to actually be thinking and planning instead of just reacting.
Getting to know how the new world ticks :)

Each to their own I guess

The show just doesn't work at all for me. The pacing really doesn't suit it in the way that BB or BCS did, and when you've got a protagonist that's as unlikable as she is there needs to be something else that draws you in - but there's nothing.

Complete flop in my opinion.

I'm so glad people are starting to speak up.
Im currently half way through 4 and something "good" has to happen very soon.
I'll be back to post this at the end.

Well something happened, maybe? But it's still really really really slow.
Hopefully by the end it'll all be Rosey and ill eat these words, but honestly it's such a weird disjointed collection of scenes and ideas. Who would do what she's doing in reality?

But it's still really really really slow.

Yeah but this is where they reel you in especially if there's a big splash coming up that makes you go WOW

I disagree with others in that BB, BCS pacing wasn't as slow as this

This is also the first show in a while that I'm watching in real time, I usually binge so I guess I'm slightly biased and inpatient

Anyway enough of me, don't want to spoil it for those who are enjoying the show

I just don't get where it's going.
She wants to liberate everyone?
Well good luck....

she ripped out a page on dosing mixing an anesthetic, stole the drug to test on herself, then used it on zosia, basically killing her. Surely this is akin to declaring war on Them. I know they are benevolent but wouldn't it be prudent to now isolate her from the world and just get on with the mission. She is after all a huge physical threat too. I just don't understand anyone's motivation at this point. I assume it will come but....

I just got done with episode 4.

I'm becoming increasingly frustrated with this, for multiple reasons. It's very slow burn but not in a good way, I enjoy well written and directed slow burn shows and movies and this isn't one of them. It feels padded and it's only four episodes in, it's like my time is being wasted for no good reason while they double dip on scenes.

For a woman that's apparently very intelligent and successful, who functions on logic(?) primarily while disdaining everyone else around her? Is it actually just negativity presented as superiority? She has the stupidest damned approaches to almost everything, is the show presenting someone with a severe case of dunning-kruger as an intentional plot point? I'm not sure if I can keep going with it much longer if the next episode or two are more of the same, even if this is all intentional it's impossible to get behind someone so incredibly annoying and poorly presented.

I feel like I'm observing an angsty teenage girl in the body of a 50 year old woman half the time.

Bueno, ahora ya sé por qué los perros se lamen los testículos.

Es para quitarle el sabor a la comida!

I am really enjoying this show. Its a slow burner, but I am liking it so far. It took me a good few tries to get into BCS, ended up being very rewarding. If I were to watch BCS again, I think I would have to skip lots of episodes or even most of the first series. Same with BB. I tried on 4 occasions to get into it. Managed the first 2-3 episodes 3 times. Forced myself on the 4th time to watch another episode and it clicked for me.

maybe I should rewatch BCS again and see if I can get into it from the start! After all, I have seen BB 5 times, maybe 6.

This show, I am liking from the off. I actually like Carol as a character too. Clearly lots of you don't.

Episode 4. The bloke at the start, tuning into whatever it was, I think hes trying to tune into the 'hive mind' frequency as he thinks they operate on radio waves. The timer is to limit the time he stays on one frequency so the hive mind wont realise if he finds it. A bit like tracing a call in the movies, hanging up before the trace finds you.

Episode 5 is out on Wednesday next week too.

Episode 4 was a slow burn but you have to have trust in Gilligan. He’s made some of the best tv in the last 20 years. Have faith! Lot of hate for the main character but I loved her in BCS. So have a lot more time for her.

I'm gonna try episode 5 later and give up if it doesn't progress the story. It's just not sci-fi in my opinion, unless we start to see a bit more about how the rest of the world is coping etc. World changing event seen through the eyes of a nobody living in Albuquerque, just doesn't do it for me.

theres not really a 'rest of the world' is there? 12 people only out of billions who didn't change. The story purely focussing on the Carol from ABQ is sufficient. No real need to venture elsewhere as it would be the same, one person out of millions. We have met some of the people who didnt change and get a little glimpse into their lives so far and they dont seem fazed. Well, theres that bloke who flew in on AF1 though.
The bloke from episode 4 will have a bigger part to play in the upcoming episodes.

I am really enjoying it. Its not everyones cup of tea, just like BB or BCS isnt.

I would put a quid on you being immune to the Pluribus virus, if it ever came to it. :D

Oh its deffo human remains they are drinking. Episode 2 the opening showed some bodies being put into a van in some sunny middle eastern country. The bodies were put in a mik van.
Next episode is titled HDP, which could be
High Diastatic Powder A type of malt with a high enzyme content, used by the distilling industry to convert starches in grains like wheat, rice, or maize into fermentable sugars.
