What film did you watch last night?

Menace 2 Society. 1993. Watched it back in the day a few times, but it had been so long I don't remember most of it. Still an amazing film about the plight of African Americans in the wake of Rodney King. 10/10
i like to watch it now and then its hardly a plight of african americans its a story about gang banging drug dealers in the hood. better than boyz in the hood tbh.

Uprising - 7/10

Korean film on Netflix about a Korean uprising in feudal times. Slipped under my radar, not the best but some good action/swordplay.

Until Dawn (on Now TV)

A group of young adults gets stuck in a time loop where they have to survive the night, with various things out to kill them.

Passable for ‘background watching’. Despite being affiliated with the video game of the same name, this film has absolutely nothing in common with the game’s plot (edit: apart from there being a ‘group of teenagers’, I guess), begging the question of why even bother to call it that…? It’s more akin to Dead by Daylight.

There is nothing remarkable on offer, but it ends up being a little more creative and ‘out there’ than you might expect… including a bizarre plot device where people explode after drinking water… which is as fun as it is dumb.

5/10 - hard to ‘recommend’ (against many other superior films), but inoffensive and above trash tier.

I really enjoyed it. I'd recommend it, most people i know that have seen it liked as well, apart from 1 person who absolutely hated it

It was not bad at all. Great performances, especially from the two lads Jesse Plemons & a first time performance from an autistic actor called Aiden Delbis.
Can be can quite poignant at times, definitely black comedy, & as mentioned, some wtf moments.
It's worth the watch, it just won't win any awards.
6.5/10

I'd give it 7.5/10 myself but i do like the original that it's a remake of so i knew it would be my thing

She Rides Shotgun (Amazon prime).

Urghhh, it's a good film, so nearly a great one, the very end scene alone elevates it.
A recent released convict is "marked" for death along with any relations due to meth gang hostilities.
The ex con, manages to grab his 10 year old daughter & go on the run.
Well worth the watch. The daughter is superb. Really top notch, young acting.
In fact I may have to give it a 2nd viewing, as tbh I treated it at 1st, with the usual semi interest, meh, sceptical viewing, that most neflix or amazon films get.
But this one is better.
Scrapes an 8/10.

Airplane got about 90% of its plot from the 1957 film Zero Hour, and maybe the other 10% from Airport 75. Probably the Nun bit.

I turned the TV on earlier whilst I was mostly focused on doing something else. It was the nun playing guitar scene and I genuinely thought it was Airplane! Took a minute before the penny dropped that the movie being shown was actually Airport 75. Then I turned it off.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse - 6.5/10.

I really enjoyed the first one and while the visuals in this sequel are very good, it’s like a living migraine. It needs to calm the **** down. It’s so damn frenetic. I must be getting old and tired of the ‘Marvelisms’ too. There doesn’t need to be a quip every other sentence.
Felt the same way. I enjoyed most of it but overall the thing was all over the place. The first film was utterly beautiful to watch with the hue gradient LED strip behind my tv, that washed the rear wall in glorious colour from the film. I almost had epileptic fits because the strip was on full overdrive. It was a difficult film to watch compared to the first.
