The England Cricket Thread

People have been saying this for ages but when it works it really works so I don't think they're going to change
I just wish they would once in a while adapt to the state of the game, when they came out to bat this morning they didn’t need the crash boom
Bang stuff they needed to get a lead of 300 by any means possible we had to give the bowlers a total to defend so they could relax into their work. 200 juat wasn’t enough it out all the pressure on England.

"Why this is England's worst defeat in Australia in years" is a BBC "article" title. Gutter Press.
I sort of agree with the article, the gut punch is that they had an opportunity realistically England were one decent individual performance with the bat away from winning. So often we have just lost in utterly abject fashion which doesn’t hurt anything like as much, this was a sickener.

With the day night test to follow the ashes could effectively be over in a couple of weeks and apparently we are not even sending the batsmen off for a bit of pink ball practice they will instead have their feet up by the pool before a single session under the lights.

If it weren't for Strac Australia would be big trouble.

Will Root get his first Ashes century in Australia? Adopting a more classic test style approach to his batting rather then bazball appears to be working for him.

Hopefully won't jinx this, but Will Jacks showing how to play some sensible shots and slowly build in to an innings.
