Kingdom Come: Deliverance / Open-World RPG / Medieval History

I've installed this for the 5th time to see if I can find the fun part*, I don't want to mod it too much but at the same time some of the stuff is so tedious I feel I have to.

Currently using instant herb picking and removed bush collisions (mental that was ever an issue) and 'a sorted inventory'. I don't really like mods in general as I prefer to play as vanilla as possible (bar graphic enhancements) so I think that should be enough for now. I may experiment with things like bow reticule and anything else that makes the combat less tedious if I get to that point again.

*edit: When I tried before I felt like there was potential but maybe I gave up too early. Some games take me a while to enjoy.

I defo went against this hard several times but then, for some reason, it just clicked and turned into my favourite PC game. Weird how that works. The brain is a funny old thing.

Hey pal, so the first game takes a little while to get going, but the story will pull you through and is very well done. I played with mouse and keyboard and really struggled with combat.

In KCD2 Ive played exclusively with my Xbox pad and while still a bit janky, they've made some good improvements. Haven't finished number 2 yet, but loving it. I may go back and do the first again on pad and see if that works better for me.

I think I got to a certain hunting trip and I have to try and rescue someone, but I'm so **** at combat I can't do it lol. Probably a load of tricks and stuff you can use but I couldn't suss it out. Don't get me started on the lockpick mini game either lol.

Haha, yeah I know exactly the mission you're talking about. You're still at a fairly low level, and depending on equipment at a massive disadvantage. You could try stealth?

If ever a game could use DLSS and frame gen, it's this.
DLDSR does a good job cleaning up the image in DLSS absence. And framerate is so high already that I do not really see a need for framegen, I get over 100fps in most demanding town already.

I've just added a second screen and now the game goes black on my main monitor when I try launch it, audio works but there's something weird going on. I'm not disconnecting the second screen. Might try edit the cfg and launch in borderless. If that doesn't work I cba work it out.

edit: Fixed it, I just disabled NVIDIA overlay. Oh now I got flickering shadows fgs, don't recall these problems before.

I feel that every stat increase may be quite significant. This start I chose str+vit choices and I lasted a good while longer when I fought Kunesh 1v1 (still can't beat him lol). That's a god thing about games where you start really weak I guess, you really notice the improvements.
In that regard it reminds me a bit how useless I felt at the start of Morrowind.
