Who's got the oldest PSU?

I have a Corsair HX750 (the old black and blue one) still running in my gaming rig. I’m fact, my whole gaming PC is from 2013 expect the GPU where it died and was replaced with an RX570 some time ago. It does chug a bit now tbh and has no TPM so stuck on Windows 10. Not a big problem yet though.

What’s more notable about the PSU is that I bought it second hand in 2013, so I don’t actually know how old it is!

Don’t skimp on your PSU, good ones do generally last. No idea if Corsair is still in that category now though.

I had an Amiga 1200 that was still functional when I sold it a couple years ago, had an 040 accelerator and 120MB HDD.

Bought in 1994 for £349 (A1200 only) which I saved up by washing dishes in the local pubs kitchen for half a year.

So it's power brick must have been 27+ years old at the time of sale. Believe it still works today so nearly 30 years old.

My current power supply is 7 years old, but I ALWAYS buy a new one whenever I build a new rig.

I'm building a new rig in a couple of months, in October or November, with a 7800X3D and a 7900XT with 64GB of DDR5.

PSU's in use here are.

Corsair HX450 from around 2008
Seasonic X-650 from around 2009
Corsair VS350 from around 2012
CoolerMaster V1000 Gold from around 2015
Seasonic Prime SnowSilent 650w Platinum from around 2019
NZXT C750 Gold from around 2022
Seasonic Prime TX-850 Titanium from around 2022

Tempted to get a new one at some point, would maybe like to get a 9950X3D2 when it comes out, and would be tempted with a 5090/6090 possibly, and seriously tempted with a Noctua themed build at some point, though I have still to use the NZXT H9 Flow and Arctic P14 Pro's I bought so it would not be for a while.

I have to ask, why do you have 7 PC's?

I have to ask, why do you have 7 PC's?

In a more general sense something I like about devices like the Lenovo Legion Go (OK laptops exist) I don't have to have separate setups any more i.e. at one point I'd have a PC at my parents, where I was living, a flat I was using for work, etc.

I have an OCZ ZS 750W from 2011 that I used for many years, but it is still in use on my 3rd PC.
Sometimes I use it to test stuff, like fans, pumps and etc...
At the moment, I'm using to test my D5 pump that has been sitting for many many years

I can match that.

Ive got an OCZ zx1250 from around that time powering my rig, dont think its healthy though as im starting to get random power offs under load, so its going soon

I upgraded my friend PSU last week, removed a Corsair GS800 from his rig. Think he’d had it since around 2010 and was still running perfectly.

I retired a Silverstone Strider Gold Evolution 1200W, from May 2014, last year.
It's up in the loft so still counts. ;p

1993 PSU in an Amiga 4000? Last booted maybe 3 years ago, always a thrill ride whenever it gets a turn out.

I've only had 1 PSU actually pop on me, a 2005 vintage Antec TruePower 430W which had been dormant for maybe 10 years before I dug it out to build a retro system, and it didn't like the idea. No actual smoke to speak of, but it definitely did pop. Might strip it down one day to see if there's anything obvious.

Bravest person on the forums award ^ :p
Sone of those OCZ power supplies were pretty good.

I had one it lasted a long time, it was still working fine I just naturally upgraded/replaced as it was only 600w and I needed a bigger one at the time.

I still have an OCZ Fatal1ty 700 watt from 2008 or 2009 I use with old Core 2 era stuff - based on a decent FSP design - still working fine albeit it only sees sporadic use in the last 10 years or so. OCZ made some great stuff as well as some not so great stuff.

I'm still running a 10 year old Seasonic X-750, never missed a beat. I will probably upgrade it when I build a new pc, no issues with it, but may as well at that point. Will probably get another Seasonic and or find an oem list and make sure to avoid Corsair/CWT (every powersupply I've had issues with has been Corsair units built by CWT).

Not mine, but my dad is still running a 15 year old bequiet unit, not sure the model. Only powering a x4 955 based machine.
