Huh. Haven’t had to do that yet.

Edit. Just tried with my phone number but it says times out. Like it’s trying to force me on to that yoti ****. Nah. Not doing that

It’s your money … spend it in whatever way brings you enjoyment. Heck, I can’t criticise - I’ve pre-ordered the digital version of Wolverine. But I am surprised that GTA6 still isn’t even in the top 90 of pre-orders on the PlayStation storefront. Looks like a lot of people are put off by the price and are prepared to wait until nearer launch, or perhaps the appeal of GTA6 isn’t as big as many of us believe?

It was more of a tongue in cheek sort of thing, like why does ocuk really give a toss how people spend their money on stuff like get over it.

I never got a notification either. If you don’t do it you’ll eventually get locked out of online features ( not sure when the close off date is ). From memory , a lot of people encountered similar issues when using the Sony app. I think I used a web browser. The steps required will be buried in this thread somewhere.

Yeah just tried it through the website on my phone (don’t have a computer) and it just says timed out. And I am not using yoti so that’s out of the question.

Edit. I don’t intend to play online anyways. So i guess it doesn’t really matter

Just checked my old messages and it looks like I used the console itself to verify ( timed out on web and phone app ). Go to settings and under your account tab you should see a notification about age verification - clicking on that should give you the option to select your preferred method.

Even some single player games with "online" elements eg. GT7 daily races, time trials etc will get locked down if you don't jump through the age verification hoop. Complete nonsense, and I wasn't going to bother either if uploading a facial scan to Yoti was the only method. It's a big factor in why I've toned down my gaming / spending on PSN in favour of PC again.

Thanks. Will check this out now. If they try and force yoti on me as my only option..I’ll probably just dip on PlayStation all together after gta and ace combat.

Just for clarification, when I say games with "online" elements eg. GT7 will get locked down, you'll still be able to play those games but some in-game features will be disabled. Regardless, I find it all rather disruptive, particularly when I'm paying ( via PSN Plus ) for the "service" - and by credit card which should, in itself, be proof of age.

I've pretty much decided I'll only use my PS5 Pro for the few 1st party exclusives I want to play ; for multiplatform titles Steam is my platform of choice.
