But didn't they flash up very briefly after he had already passed incident/was just about o leave the mini sector?

It wasn't briefly and doesn't matter if he had passed the incident the lights appear you apply to them Max had no issue doing so I expect every other drivers did as well.

LH knew he had done wrong you can tell by the way he was in the interview.

It's not just Silverstone, they take too long to retrieve cars generally I find. That safety car as well could have literally slowed down to walking pace to ensure we had time even if it meant they had colder tyres. Bit or a poor show.

He jumped in the sense that he moved before the light went green, but he didn't go past the line
The jump start rule is to stop someone gaining advantage which he clearly didn’t, if you look at races from the eighties they sometimes move a couple of yards.
His wheel rocked about a centimetre.

It was about 50 yards before a green flag, with nothing to see in between.

The example was given that max lifted for a split second but he was some distance behind Hamilton.

The car was cleared quickly.

There was hardly any laps left and they need to allow back markers through plus an extra lap

Also imo, and I’ve been there many times for various race meetings, silverstone is not a great track, it’s boring. All those raving about maggots, beckets etc have never sat in the grandstand there it’s so far away you get no sense of speed.
The good bit was at the entry to that section where the track was close to the spectators.

In the old days bridge corner was amazing.

It was a great track. In various incarnations.

In this one, where they neutered it to placate the two-wheel crowd who thought that Bridge was a little too dangerous for their delicate little sensibilities, it's lost the things that made it truly great.

I think Silverstone is a fantastic track. This grand Prix felt closer to Melbourne though with the artificial back and forth. It did feel like Battery 1 rather than Formula 1 again.
Shame about the SC so late. Do we know officially why it got made to go round once more? If it was for the back markers not quite being in place that's particularly annoying as obviously we don't care.
