AMD Zen 6 rumours

Not sure what you’re getting at or point you’re attempting to make.
That you're getting excited over a 5Ghz 192 core part, despite the fact the Overclock3d article has taken the Microsoft blog out of context and come up with some nonsense.
The current 96 core parts that Microsoft use can't even manage 5Ghz, so no chance that a 192 Core part will.

192c384t will almost certainly be the top system config
Of course there will be a 192c 384t part, but I can't imagine it will be running at 5Ghz+ Given that current 128 core parts can't hit more than 4.1Ghz (and have a 500w TDP)

and what I’ll be looking at on release.
Can't wait for you to post pictures :)

So actually 256 cores/512 threads for the top part, and confirmation of 96 Core parts will be the ones with 5Ghz+ frequency

These and more slides in full here:

Yeah, I'll see what happens when they both release.
I came to AMD from intel, with a 2500k.
But Zen is cooking this time round.

I just say this cause both AMD and Intel are soon launching new generation of CPUs and both will require you to buy new a motherboard and ram if your current system is AM4, so since you'll have to buy motherboard + ram + cpu anyway you may as well pick whatever happens to be the best, which we'll know more about later

Can’t wait for 192 cores of Zen6 at 5ghz. Intel will really have to offer something with coral rapids because I think they could struggle to beat the mid/upper mid tier of EPYC this time.

We already have a pretty decent understanding of Intels desktop roadmap. 8 single thread Skylake based cores along with an increased/ing amount of Atom cores plus some AI stuff. That’s for the desktop parts. Enterprise and to a lesser extent laptops are different.

Regardless of the exact specifications it's looking like anyone on AM5 is going to get a substantial upgrade. I'm on a 7600 so if I can go to a 12 core X3D part that's going to be huge. Only fly in the ointment is I have no GPU at the moment

Yeah I'm on a 7700 (non-x). Looking at a 10 or 12 core Zen6, should be plenty fast enough for a good long while.

As an enthusiast I'm hoping these chips are gonna be a good upgrade for gaming compared to my 7800x3d. But as I game at 4k@120 it'll probably be single digits increase in frames like the 9800x3d.

I’m hoping for a bit more than that in the most CPU-bound scenarios, especially if using DLSS at 4K. I can easily becoming CPU-bound in many games when using DLSS perf/balanced, which I don’t mind doing in multiplayer shooters for example. Need my 240fps :D

New rumour: Zen 6 uses new power management algorithms to keep high demand cores supplied with more power. The new feature is called Collaborative Processor Performance Control (CPPC)

Detail of how it works is here:

The speculation is that it will improve 1% low performance in games
