My external Bosch unit has to be replaced with two smaller Bosch units to bring it into compliance with MCS020a. Ordered 2 weeks ago, original ETA was September, now December. Considering had I ordered them a month earlier I'd have had them next day, the spike in demand is insane.Had an email this morning to say the external unit has arrived and they are installing on Thursday/Friday.
They still don’t have the external unit for my garage/home gym yet.

Yeah, unfortunately just slightly over. Had it been installed earlier this year it would have been compliant with the older standard (MCS020). Considered retrospective planning permission but that particular neighbour is hostile so it was only going to go one way. In reality it is actually quite quiet and certainly not at the threshold of being a nuisance, but 'thems the rules'. So I'm replacing it to avoid a planning enforcement, although the long lead time for the new units might lead to one anyway in the meantime.Ah that sucks! I assume your current unit is too loud and fails noise compliance? I had the same concern with my 10kW external unit but the neighbours nearest window is over 7m away across the shared drive and also a bathroom window.
I think my order was played 23/06 so not too bad at 5 weeks. I didn’t hang about during the first heat wave getting booked in.
Anyone got experience of ducted AC?
We're considering AC over the next year or so, and we like the idea of ducted AC, as it means you don't have a bulky unit mounted on the wall. Anyone had them installed & can give their thoughts? Worth it over standard units (I'm assuming it'll be more expensive)? Any particular thoughts to consider?
Just had mine finished today. Already feels like a great idea. My home office was 32 degrees, now sitting comfortably at 20.Finally got the split AC I ordered finished today
You don’t really appreciate it until you’re not sitting in a puddle of your own sweat.Just had mine finished today. Already feels like a great idea. My home office was 32 degrees, now sitting comfortably at 20.
The condensing unit will still have to sit somewhere outside.Anyone got experience of ducted AC?

DIY?Finally got the split AC I ordered finished today (to be fair wasn't started until weekend just gone as I had other jobs on the list that were apparently priority)
Oh the joy of coming in from outside and immediately feeling the difference
Interesting that its quoted as 800w in cooling mode but its been up as high as almost 1300w
Its cooling the room from 31 (it said) to target of 24 though so maybe once its getting closer to 24 it will drop energy
Door is open also so its cooling into the landing as well

Is the 800w a nominal figure? As in, if the rooms 30c and you tell it to bring it down to 24 it's gonna be working it's **** off till it gets to the target temp, then it will calm down and just maintain 24c?
