I'm getting a little tired of the DLSS5 Mania, only because it does kind of look good, but nearly every example of it has this shimmering that's off putting.

Yeah Onimusha is a great use case for it imo. Assuming Capcom go ahead with the plans to add DLSS5 to RE9, I'd be surprised if they didn't also add it to Oniumusha officially at some point.
Yeah 85% of the examples posted online don't look great to me, 10% are just people showing off their waifus, and the remaining 5% are an interesting result.
I'll definitely continue to try it out in some games I play though.
Been trying out AMD-NR myself (again a 9070XT) as well on various games . My impressions are it's really a mixed bag. Some games it makes a subtle but noticeable differences that do add to the visual aspect of the game ( games with close up faces are good examples see above). On others (mechwarrior 5 for example) it really adds nothing and what it does add can easily be replicated with some AO/shadowing tweaking. The big kicker is the the performance hit - on the AMD set-up the NR current drops FPS down to 55-60% of what it was and the effect just isn't worth it imho. (I've also got a 5070 as well and I have to say the opinion on NR is the same there as well - currently it's not worth the performance hit.) As a whole it just feels like software technology that's been introduced as a selling point when the actual hardware capable of running it practically doesn't exist yet at a sensible priceUsing AMD-NR, Linked below, On a 9070XT, Performance and image stability are both shockingly good in some games -
Onimusha Way of the Sword
Have the announced plans to add DLSS 5 for Onimusha? Not sure I’ve seen it anywhereYeah Onimusha is a great use case for it imo. Assuming Capcom go ahead with the plans to add DLSS5 to RE9, I'd be surprised if they didn't also add it to Oniumusha officially at some point.

U should try it in star citizen!Humbug reads this and starts to shout...
One of us, one of us!
No they haven't - it was just me speculating it's a possibly since it's planned for RE9, and imo Onimusha would benefit more from it.Have the announced plans to add DLSS 5 for Onimusha? Not sure I’ve seen it anywhere

You need to.do.a few.more years of beta testing yet![]()
Jonny reckons it will be in beta by end of 2027 so not long to go.
I recently got a Strix Halo handheld and have been tempted to sell on my 5070ti desktop (as I mainly play older games and have a Geforce Now sub), and wanted to try out the AMD version, but not sure if it's mature enough to get decent FPS even in older games?Been trying out AMD-NR myself (again a 9070XT) as well on various games . My own opinion (others may disagree) is that NR as a whole is a software technology that has been released way before the hardware to support it properly is available. For both the official nvidia version and the AMD version, - for what it adds the performance hit is way too great. Also half the time I've been able to play around with reshade filters , AO sttings and SS GI and get a far way to the effect NR adds anyway with minimal performance hit.I recently got a Strix Halo handheld and have been tempted to sell on my 5070ti desktop (as I mainly play older games and have a Geforce Now sub), and wanted to try out the AMD version, but not sure if it's mature enough to get decent FPS even in older games?
The games I've noticed most difference on (using it on my desktop) are SOTTR and, more recently 007 Quantum of Solace has a huge increase in definition with it turned omY
Woah
I noticed this and in Witcher 3 too, the DLSS5 ones had less vibrancy as they target more "realism" it seems. Whilst some areas of the DLSS5 look nice (AO, surface texturing getting an almost bump mapped perception in Witcher etc), I don't like the overall look vs stock path tracing or even stock Hardware Lumen in Townfall here, and I was using the default single pass DLSS 5 as well, adding more passes makes things look even more waxy.@mrk , looking at the SH, I see less green from the display casted on the desk and keyboard. I'm not sure you need DLSS 5 in a path traced game...
