What's your car's annoying foibles?

Interior on mine tends to creak a little... Clutch Foot rest gets in the way someitimes when i go to put my clutch foot down...
 
When raining/around 12c ish windows mysteriously fog up if not using air con.
One of my Console bulbs has gone, have tried replacing but no use unfortunately.

Other than that it gets me to work and back fine and suits my needs.
 
Forgot a new one that has appeared this week.

Hessitation when pulling away with a cold engine. Reeks of something, I think unburnt fuel so she's running too rich.

Which means that sometimes pulling away is- cough.... splutter.... splutter... kangeroo... screach from tyres and we're off :p
 
May not be strictly on topic, but my old Daewoo... its dashboard used to just completeley loose all light.. great at midnight in an area filled with speed cameras :D
 
That reminded me ^ ^ :p

The light on my speedo has gone, it's great fun trying to find my phone in the pitch black so i can light it up when i near speed cameras :D
 
I only have one rattle. It's called the entire ****ing car.

I struggle to get it in reverse sometimes.

The frameless windows don't always seal, and I always forget to close the door by the door not the window.

I'm sure I'll think of more..

Fun isnt it... I just kept punching it and eventually it came back on

Where on earth did you get that car from and what sort of a life has it led before? :eek: Sounds like it has something pretty fundamentally wrong with it :(
 
Button on handbrake rattles and the clutch is a bit heavy. Oh and it's black and a pita to keep looking nice.

Edit: and the front underbumper skirty thing is very, very low for a car on std suspension. You can't park with the tyres against a kerb kkkkkkrrrrrrrccccchhhhh.
 
No water channels on the windscreen (or roof for that matter!). So if you wash you screen with the drivers window open you get screenwash on the door card :rolleyes:

Only have 1-touch on the drivers window when I always have the passenger window open fully when driving and the drivers open a crack, annoying.

Suffer from the flash/full beam indicator stalk too, pull it too far forward and full beam comes on.

Annoying car pack dent on the drivers rear quarter which I see every time I get in :(

EDIT - All these cars with rattles and my "French rot-box" has only one I think! And that's due to unbalanced wheels and only occurs at 90-95mph. :D

with thwe scooby, the only real thing that annoys me, are the childrens car seats. they rattle a bit.

My new car (coming 21st July) will probably have lots ;)
its a 3 speed manual for a start, with a dogleg 1st! something to get used to!
 
Clio 1.5 dCi van:

Too noisy at speed - being the van version, the back is stripped out and their is little sound dampening.

Also, I have to approach junctions at 90° because there are no rear side windows.

It's quite torquey but lacks power. Overtaking on steep hills can be a bitch.

Drums are squeaking at the moment when I pull up to traffic lights.

Second gear doesn't slot in quick enough when I want to take off at speed - I have to wait a little otherwise it crunches.

The load cage can squeak and rattle on country roads at speed.

The CD drive is a bit crap and can skip or spit out CDs, displaying "ERROR" despite no scratches.


Apart from those problems, I actually love it. It looks like a 182 with the sports pack and the handling and brakes make for good fun in the twisties.
 
I feel every bump in every road
It drinks too much.
The turning circle is appauling.
The seats are made for someone fatter than me.
Its too low
The aircon isn't working
Every little rattle or noise has my credit card in tears. :p
 
Oh turning circle! Thanks to the 6speed gearbox turning right is a joke making mini roundabouts fun. Turning left is fine which is funny :p

Its just started falling to bits/rusting this past few weeks,been totally reliable for the 2yrs ive owned/abused it. Just coming up to 200k
Now also has a oil leak from the valve cover gasket...which drops oil onto the manifold...which then burns and fills the interior with nice blue smoke :D.

Car of doom
partially broken driver mirror, when driving fast wind seems to get in slightly and makes a huge noise
Leaky sunroof
Big Ass dent and scrape along one side
When car starts for first time that day it unleashes a huge cloud of smoke, therefore back of my car is almost black
useless handbrake
rear window wiper has no rubber
brake warning light is constantly on - brakes are fine though

i dont fix these problems as my banger doesnt deserve it, i hate it
