I have a weak gpu (rtx 3050) and currently happily gaming on a 24" 1080p monitor. I need some more pixels for work stuff so I'm considering a 27" QHD or a 32" QHD monitor.
I'm veering towards a 32" QHD because it has a similar pixels per inch (ppi) to a 24" 1080p (93 ppi and 92 ppi...
I did check the crucial site but there isn't any option to download it seperately don't know what they're playing at.
I think there may be an update to at least 046 available. I just saw a 3 month old thread on reddit where op was complaining about failures occuring under 045 and had to install...
I installed a new Crucial 2TB MX500 drive, formatted it and checked it on CrystalDiskInfo just to confirm it's new - all good.
Started copying over about 50GB data and after a few seconds the transfer speed tanked to 0, transfer paused and eventually crashed with Windows error "A device which...
Nevermind I just realised the problem is my case labels my front headphone/mic ports the wrong way round.
So I've actually been plugging headphones into Mic port which although it can output from doesn't show as seperate playback source.
So yeah all sorted now the headphones and speakers show...
Don't have a slot for it on a mitx board.
I have a front audio slot on the case but as soon as I plug my headphones in the speakers turn off. It doesn't show up as a seperate thing in windows speaker icon on taskbar so no option to go back to the speakers unless I unplug.
At the moment I've got Speakers connected to the mobo line out and then I use the case front panel to plug the headphones in/out when needed.
I'd prefer having both connected all the time and just switch between them when I need to using windows 10/11 speaker control.
So for example if I...
I think that Win10 has drivers set up for the old machine so it's normal to be unable to boot. Better off doing a clean install then grabbing the files you need off that drive.
Also try update the BIOS to tackle the RAM problem. I had a quick look the latest version is F21.
I think this is...
I'm using a Dell optiplex 7050 mff (cpu i5 7500t) and the cpu cooling fan is quite noisy never stops spinning. I thought when idling/low-power it'd be mostly passive like a laptop but not with this one.
I checked bios but there is no fan-mode settings option (contrary to the online manual)...
Thanks yes the connector looks good.
Original:
Input: 100-240V ~ 50/60Hz 1.2A
Output: 27V 1.7A
Marketplace seller's picture is blurry I think it says:
Input: 100-240V AC ~ 2.0A 50/60Hz
Output: DC 27V 2A
Spoke to Creative's live chat a bit earlier and they have a Replacement Parts website...
I'm pretty sure the power supply has had it, I've had these speakers about 10 years. I need a replacement 27V 1.7A power supply.
On the marketplace I can see a seller advertising one specifically for the Gigaworks T20 which I'm certain uses the same power supply. But the seller lists it as...
@jamieboo have you run crystaldisk/benchmark to see your SSD is performing as expected? If it's good I'd just leave it as it is.
In theory though there is probably a way to swap between drivers again without reformatting/losing data.
I've got mine running yesterday and I tried setting a user defined fan curve in Thundermaster (latest version 4.11) but it's just ignoring it. As soon as the gpu hits 60+ degrees the fan gets very loud.
I'm more worried about the fan but you got me curious so I just opened it up to take a look and I think it's similar to yours curved in the middle where the heat sink is bolted, photo attached.
If you install Palit's ThunderMaster program you can set the fan at a fixed speed to see if the noise comes back at a certain RPM.
The sagging is dissapointing but probably nothing to worry about, you can fix it with a small gpu support bracket for under £10.
My 3050 is still in the packet...
Mine arrived this morning thanks Gibbo & OCuk.
It's not a big upgrade over my current GTX 1060 6GB (+ 10-15fps I think, possibly less in my PCIe- gen 3 slot?) but I need it for a new m-itx build. I wanted a 3060/6600XT but can't justify £500 at the mo.
Yeah just thinking you could put the price of the SSD and RAM toward a new £280 laptop. I think the even the current budget Pentium Gold 7505 cpu's will considerably outperform the i5-3317U.
A laptop example: ASUS X415EA 14in Pentium Gold 4GB 128GB
