MMMMM what to order. I could have had a gtx for saturday too damit lol.

The 8800GTX for £240 is a great deal, the GTX still apears to have an edge and can be overclocked to match or better the 8800GTS 512MB clocks, however no amount of overclocking will give the GTS a 384bit bus or 768mb of memory. :)

What does it mean? :o

ROP's are render pipes, they work at the core frequency. Basically the pixel fillrate is how many pixels it can dump on the screen, four bits usually RGB+Z and four pixels/ROP. They resolve/combine data like antialias samples, adding them to textures samples etc. The pixel fillrate isn't as important as it used to be, its a compressed stream, with more and processing being done on the shaders. They also say they've improved the compression algorithm. If it does have 24 ROP's they changed the 8 series architecture of 4 ROP's per 64bit memory channel. I'm not so sure it has tbh.

Pixel fill > 650MHz x 24ROP's = 15.6 GPixels/s

TAU/TMU are texture address/mapping units. The texture fill rate is the core frequency times the TMU. They're grouped in with the shader clusters, 8 per 16 shaders, twice as many as the G80. The texture fillrate is basically how fast it can apply textures to mesh surfaces.

Texel fill > 650MHz x 64TMU = 41.6 GTexels/s

Shader ops > 1625MHz x 3 (MADD+MUL) x 128SP = 624 GFlops

Mem bandwidth > 256bit x 1940MHz x 1/8 = 62.08 GB/s

I still prefer the idea of a pimped GT until 9800 can't think of any game that is going to require above a GT to comfortably enjoy apart from crysis.
