Dude you crack me up :D i mean seriously you make me laugh, get a life dude instead of trying to put other people down for no reason other than to make your own stupid existence seem worthwile.

Thanks for your comments though they are a great help...

You crack me up. You've spent 2.5K and you don't know what you're doing. My existence is fine thanks, i didn't have to go out and build an e-peen rig for some attention and vaildation.

If you had listened to to advice from the get-go you would not be in this mess, 3rd case now is it? LOL!!!

To borrow from the angling vernacular

"All the gear - no idea"

If it wasnt for people like this willing to push the boundries and try these things out you think companys would be making the push they are for making things like this mainstream! NO! STFU or go sit in a tank filled with argon!!!

Keep on trying by the way turbo, i'm interested in how this goes

Turbo, think you were pushing it a bit too far with all of this equipment and then not knowing 100% what you were doing.

You could have spent a lot less and achieved an amazing working high end rig.

At least you have your massive epeen.

Pictures look nice, shame you're struggling to get things to work.

And Formatuk, don't be so rude.
You mean if it wasn't for guys not knowing what they were doing ?
I'm all for amazing rigs pushing boundries, but this isn't pushing anything, this is a person with more money then sense.

Everyone is able to voice their opinions on this mature forum, if you want to use capitals and tell people to "STFU" you belong in another more immature forum.

I'm just saying what everyone's thinking, Like someone said previously, If hes got nothing constructive say to turbo's problem, Then dont bother.

Sorry if you found me 'rude' but he's like a broken record and he aint exactly helping is he!!!

im not fussed about the size of my epeen, i spend my money on something that i enjoy doing, i never claimed to be an amazing rig builder or anything like that, i simply spent my hard earned money on something i like to do and then thought i would share it with people on this forum and seeing as this post genereated quite a lot of interest i decided to carry on and post a build log etc, your right im not %100 sure what im doing but who cares its not your money and if im having fun while im learning what the hell does it matter.

and as for spending less money on a rig that is just as good, i am aware of this... but i wanted to spend 2.5k and see what i could get for that price.

Thinking of closing this thread to be honest, its just becoming fuel for peoples envy and jealousy.

Thanks to all who actually helped or at least tried to.

I can't offer any help with your problems turbo, but I just wanted to say this...

I know lots of people who would think that shelling out even £200 on a PC, never mind £2,000+, is lunacy. After all, you can buy a lot of food and essentials for £200 (or £2,000). Thing is though, some people have more money than others and always will do. What I mean is, it's just a case of perspective.

The guys on here slating you are perfectly happy with their cheaper rigs (like mine), and all power to them. But they're no more right for saying you're mad than my mates are for thinking I'M mad for spending ~£1,000 on bits and pieces for my rigs over the last year.

At the end of the day, you have the cash and you're having fun. At the end of this you'll have a nice rig and you'll have learnt a lot. This thread (i.e. your build log) has been interesting and I wish you luck in getting this sorted. Have fun. :D

1. At least my rig works!!! :D

2. I haven't just wasted over a grand on cases that aren't big enough for silly-Tri-Sli, and in general completely OTT hardware becuase i want an e-peen rig! :D

3. At least when i built my rig i knew what i was doing, and i researched the parts, and got the best prices :D

4. Why would anyone be jealous of a fool who wastes money like a drunken sailor, patently doesn't know what he's doing, doesn't have a set-up that works, and has ignored all the advice given to him and ended a week later with BSOD's he has no idea how to fix! :D ??????????

Anyone with any PC building nouse would have made sure the case he inteded to buy would be big enough to accomodate TRI-SLI - that's rig 101 son, - "will my case be large enough for my proposed GPU set-up?"

"Simples" ;)

I'll be tuning in this week to see if you have a rig that works after spending over 2K.

:D

You really are an arrogant **** arnt you! Turboduck ignor this moron. And don't give up on the setup you have! Ive been keeping an eye on this topic as im saving for a similar setup...so am keen to see it work!

Nor are you by being rude and childish with you're insults and remarks.

Two wrongs don't make a right, if he isn't here to offer help / advice don't feed the troll.

Don't swear, and don't feed the trolls.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if you don't agree with it.

Calling someone a moron, and an arrogant **** isn't being mature is it, you're almost at his level.

I think you were fussed by the size of your epeen ;)

I expect you've learnt a lot and learnt that the hard way with this build, next time I suspet you won't make as many mistakes with building a computer with this budget.

TRI SLI in my opinion wasn't worth it, and as a result you've had a lot of hassle with it, you could have whacked 2x 295's, and not struggled with the problems, and wouldn't of seen much of a reduction in frames.

Was interesting watching you're build evolve and you're stumbles along the way, as I said you've hopefully learnt from your mistakes :)

Some more pics of how the build looks now ?

I dont see that i have made that many mistakes, the SSD's that i bought were faulty lol and i wanted TRI SLI rather than 2 x 295s as they performed better in the games i wanted to play... i was going for 2 x 295s originally and someone here directed me to a post comparing quad (2 x 295's) vs TRI SLI with the 280's and the 280's were superior i mean sure not by much but what we be the point in spending all that money and getting something not as good. No one could have predicted the NVLDDMKM..SYS errors, alright they happen a lot but it should have been ok and as for the case the tri sli does fit in the case it was simply the case and mobo didn't line up, how on earth would i have found that out ? Most posts just say they have 7 expansion slots which was enough, i even posted it all on here before i bought anything and even people confirmed it should be ok so i bought it. I wouldn't label them as my mistakes, simply just bad luck but hey thats my opinion.

Thanks for your support anyways mate i see where you are coming from.

Spending that much money ! I'd have driven up to the Overclockers house (where all the computer bits live) and would have looked at cases, I'd have asked / begged to be shown which cases they advise :)

As for SLI *sigh* why do you need that extra few frames :P
2x295's would own, I'm running ONE SINGLE 260, and it plays everything at 1680x1050 without trying, I can't imagine the kind of performance you'd get with 2x295/2x4870x2 thingys / 3x280's !

SSD are cool, expensive but cool, I'm looking into getting one for my operating system next month *sigh* more messing about.

I've not had a single blue screen with Vista :p

sorry i have to post on this topic...

i cannot believe how many negative responses turbo duck has recieved since posting his new PC spec.

Its hard to sit here and watch ppl slate him for spending what he has...if anyone should be having a pop at him...it should be me... as his other half!

He works long long hours and earns good money from doing that, so if he wanted to spend 2.5k on his new pc and try something different who can blame him.

He didnt just wake up one day and decide to throw a load of money onto stuff he didnt know about, he looked into it and thought he would give it a shot and posted on here to keep ppl updated and ask for help and advice. He even posted what he was getting and asked for any thoughts on it!

yeah the new set up isnt working like it should but at least he has had fun and learnt a few things along the way...

He has built Pc's from scratch before and they have worked fine, and this time he dared to try something different...maybe it didnt work to plan but hey... it was his money to spend and experiment with....

good luck with getting it all up and running turboduck!

And big thanks to the nice people who have been offering help and advise from the start....

Oh crud, turbo's brought out the big guns... the Mrs has turned up! Run for your lives lads! :D Seriously though, I agree with you Sazjo (I posted as much a bit further up this page though my post seems to have been lost in the subsequent mad ramblings). Either help out and/or enjoy turbo's major rig building exercise, or find another thread. Simple.

Now you're here, make sure to stick around. We're not ALL eejits, honest. :)
