The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

I'm trying to root with fastboot, but keep getting this:

Any thoughts as to what I'm doing wrong?

Looks like the fastboot program is not in that directory and hence cannot be found. Have a look at the directory in explorer to see if the fastboot-windows file is there or type dir at the prompt to see it appears in the list of files. If it is not, then check where you extracted the files to as it could be you are in the parent directory and the files you want are in a child directory.

It was in that directory (wasn't at first, but is now). I lost patience with it and did it on my XP laptop with no fuss at all, so sorted now. I think I needed to find the drivers for Vista (and did when it was too late, i.e. I was on my XP machine already).

So all I now have to do is whack a new rom on, and I'm all set. :)
 
I'm running the 2.2 Alpha 1 rom on mine - seems to have unlocked the phone for me.

Just plugged in my T-Mobile sim and it's working great without me having to change any settings etc.

The rom is a little buggy though - but it's passable.
 
I just sold this phone for 150 Euro. Not prepared to put up with the bad earphone issues and audio quality any more. The screen was brilliant but the rest of the phone does lack qauality control so badly. The colour gray did appear pink alittle too as above.
 
How fast is this phone? I've currently got a HTC magic which is feeling a bit sluggish and can't decided whether to buy something like a HTC Desire HD or go cheep as a stop gap with the San Francisco but worried I won't notice any speed bump.
 
Looks like Dell is jumping on the bandwagon and rebranding the Blade as their own XCD35 in India (not sure whether they'll sell in other markets). I wonder if this'll end with a proper Froyo release?

Not sure how the Blade compares with the Magic, but it is generally higher spec where it matters. It's at least as quick as my HTC Legend, and the screen is superb which has won me over to it.
 
Hi guys, I purchased this phone a couple of days ago and I love it. A bargain!

Could some one tell me what the ROM I should get? Using standard Orange one at the moment.

Well for all out speed and smoothness I'm persevering with gforums 2.2. Still have that dialer problem. Not had it on long so dont know if I have the battery drain issue. But the ease of using sd card for apps is the clincher for me. Besides will do till froyo proper is out. With new versions coming out with froyo it may be soon.
