The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

Thanks, I'm getting stuck with installing Flashboot though. This is the step I'm getting stuck on

From a command prompt (at the directory containing these new files!) run 'fastboot-windows flash recovery recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.9-modaco-r2-blade.img' (subsituting 'fastboot-mac' or 'sudo fastboot-linux' as required)

How do I direct a CMD to the folder location? What command would I use?

Cheers

cd C:\Users\etc\etc

Just browse to the fastboot folder and copy&paste the address...

So for example, my fastboot folder is on the desktop... So i would use the following command:

cd C:\Users\Asim\Desktop\fastboot

For stability and versatility I would suggest the modaco kitchen roms. But you'd have to pay for adfree membership. Other wise a lot of people like sebs roms, on modaco also. Once you've rooted and installed clockwork mod then its all downhill. I used MS Dos prompt for using fastboot.

I have it on the desktop to. My CMD starts off at C:\Users\TDenic

Even if I put in C:\Users\TDenic\Desktop\Fastboot it says not recognized as an internal or external command

You have to type CD first. If you just type a location and hit enter, it's pointless as the computer wont know what to do. If you put CD first it will tell it to change to that directory.

I still don't get it though, I was following the guide to install Flashboot and that was the step, however I want to install this http://android.modaco.com/content/z...daco-custom-rom-mcr-downloads-online-kitchen/ ROM but it just tells me to

* Download the update zip above and copy to your SD card.
* Restart your device in recovery mode (turn on your device with 'Volume Down' held).
* Use the recovery menu to apply the update zip.

You have to do the rooting and clockwork mod first. Then you can install roms.

I used this tutorial.

http://android.modaco.com/content/z...odaco-custom-rom-from-scratch-and-other-roms/

I didn't have a clue either. My main problem was that most people seemed to be using MAC's or linux for the command prompt stuff. I then worked out dos prompt worked just as well.

On a side note think I'll stick with 220 density. And I so cannot wait for a proper froyo release, it is soooooooooooooo SMOOTH.

First you need to install ClockworkMod Recovery

Then dowload the ROM and put it on your sd card. Then you will be able to start your phone in recovery mode by pressing the vol- button and powering up. You can then use recovery mode to install your new rom from the sd card.

I do not see the file fastboot-windows flash recovery recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.9-modaco-r2-blade.img in my flashboot folder though, where do I download it from?

Getting really tired and frustrated now :(
