Hazro series - HZ30Wi, HZ30WiQ, HZ27WA, HZ27WB & HZ27WC

I have had two Dells U2711. First one developed an intermitent fault whereby the monitor will flicker whilst warming up. Dell delivered another a brand new replacement and I only returned the broken one after I received and installed the new one. Didn't have any hassle apart from the call I had to make to report the problem. They then kept me informed of the progress for the replacement.

Both were pixel perfect. No dead pixels, sub pixels or any other problems. No dust in or out either. Just perfect in that respect.

No tinting or uniformity issues either in either of them.

No noticeable bleeding either.

I know what I would buy in the future.

I've had a Dell U2711 since Nov 2010, no stuck/dead (sub) pixels, no tinting problems, or other problems, got it when Dell ran the cheap deal £550 (or so), so more than pleased with it, also bought a hardware calibrator which really sets it up very nicely...

Really feel for the people who have spent their hard earned cash and ended up with something that they have problems with, the dust issue should not have occurred, I'm glad I waited now and didn't buy the "WA" to replace an NEC 24WMGX3...

Is there anyone that has tried calibrating the Hazro HZ27WC yet that is still happy enough with the screen even with some dead pixels?

I decided to calibrate mine and the results I got are prittay good? compared to TFT Centrals results and these results are even without calibrating at the graphics card LUT level.

Just received my wc screen...1 stuck pixel in lower centre same place as combat fighter picture.

I suppose one out of 3.6 Million isnt bad but still :(

Apart from that its really nice :)

Now just need to build the SB rig and give the crossfired 6950s a workout :)

Running undeadpixel 2.2 to see if that can unstick it.

I'm very happy with mine. If someone was selling a brand new Apple Cinema screen with 2 dead pixels and 1 tiny piece of dust for less than half price, I'd tear their arm off!

The faults are only noticable on a white screen, and don't show at all when gaming, watching movies, or general browsing.

What brightness have you got it on? I changed it by accident and am not sure if it was on 100% by default.

I don't have any calibration device, changed my brightness to step 2 from the lowest point.
Looks fine for me, same as Baddass did in his review.
Is there any way to calibrate lcd without device?
Don't get me wrong, i like the colors how they are straight from the box, but maybe I don't see sth that could be fixed or calibrated..

It should be calibrated out of the box.

Check if everything looks good on Lagom.nl website.

Thanks for that, great tool, helped me realise that some of the stuck pixels weren't them at all - it's all dust on the glass. And I can't be worried about that much as other Hazro monitors with glass screen will have the same problem (and I really want to keep the monitor because it really is awesome besides a few flaws).

Now to find and count the stuck subpixels and see if I can fix them at all - so far one close to the middle of the screen, appears on Red background only.

The exact same thing i`m thinking.

Fare enough, for the price we paid for these screens we shouldn't really be having these sorts of problems but I guess this is life and not much we can do about it.

I do however feel for those folks that have really bad dead or stuck pixels or have the bad dust problems with their screens.

For me, my eyes are still trying to adjust to this screen as it feels a little weird, a bit strain on my eyes probably because i`m still used to using a 24 inch screen.

Haha:) Same here - for last couple of years I used 24" lcd, then for last 2 weeks I used 15". Yesterday I powered on my new 27" and I couldn't believe how big this is! Everytime I went in my room, I was like WOW!

Played Dead Space 2, which looked totally different on 27". When I'm thinking, its just a few inches, right? But the resolution is amazing, 16:10 -> 16:9 is also a difference. I can only image how other my favourite games will look like on this huge screen, like Settlers, Red Faction, etc.

I wonder how good old Baldur's Gate would look like:) I'm sure I would gain a lot of viewing distance, see more details around, compare to 19" I played this game in the past....

I turned the brightness all the way down as far as it could go and up it i`m sure ether 2 or 3 times similar to the TFT Centrals instructions.

I used my X-Rite eye-one display 2 device + LaCie BlueEye Pro 4.5.5 for the calibration.

hmm, i just tried that undead pixel test and i've noticed that the cluster of "dead pixels" can't be that because i placed the small flashing square over the pixels and when i move my head around it's no longer on the pixel. I can't make the flashing square line up with the dead pixels. Conclusion? It's a big bit of dust. It's possible i have no dead pixels here and it's all dust. I'd recommend people try this test to see.

Is there really no way to get in there and clean it? This was the only thing that was bugging me as it's rather large, all the other tiny dust problems don't bother me and i can live witht he two chips in the glass as they are barely noticable either.

you could give the settings and ICC profile a try from the calibrated TFTCentral review here. worth a go :)

I'm not sure if its just mine so it would be great if someone else can check on their Hazro if you look in the top left and right hand corners of your monitor where the glass sits flush, on mine there are slight semi-circles I can see on the backing. I'm wondering if that is there to help you take off the glass perhaps?

Would be great if you could take the glass off with some glass suction pads. I can't imagine that the bonding material is that strong (well I'm hoping it's not strong i.e silicon sealant)

I know Gibbo is finding out from Hazro to see if there is some info that can be shared to see if you can take the glass front off so you can clean off the dust particles. . .
