Hazro series - HZ30Wi, HZ30WiQ, HZ27WA, HZ27WB & HZ27WC

you could give the settings and ICC profile a try from the calibrated TFTCentral review here. worth a go :)

I just loaded up your ICC profile, now the screen looks much more like my half-calibrated Dell 2209WA did :)

Should I keep brightness at maximum setting? I feel that anything less is too dark with this profile.

No audio cable with mine either...only just realised :(

Ditto.

brightness should only impact the luminance so you can have that set at whatever you feel is comfortable :)

Yeah.. looks like we all didn't get it.

OCUK description says: "- Dual Link DVI-D Cable, 2.5mm Audio Cable, 24V External Power Adapter, UK"

Also, TFT Central review says: "The HZ27WC (DVI only version) will come packaged with just the DL-DVI and stereo audio cables."

i'm guessing this was dropped in the final stock.

I guess that was the case. Nothing to be bothered about though.

So basically there's no other settings I need to mess around with but load the profile with Windows Color Management tool?

Do you happen to know if I need to have any third party software running in the background for games to recognize the ICC profile?

I have upped my Hazro HZ27WC Monitor Calibrated Color Profile on mediafire for those that would like to try it.

For the brightness setting for this color Profile, I turned down the brightness on the screen as far as it could go and i`m sure I up it either 2 or 3 times.

Do you use any software to load the colour profile or just Color Management in Win 7?

you would ideally want to pair it with the hardware settings listed in the review./ on the C model you can only control the brightness anyway, so yes, just load the ICC profile. it wouldnt be used in games normally but then you wouldnt really necessarily be aiming for accurate colours in games anyway.

if you cant see them in normal use, why check for them? you'll only upset yourself if you find them and they will become a problem for you that they didnt need to be :)

Better to look for them now just after receiving the item rather than finding them naturally 3 months down the line and the monitor irking you to hell !!

Glad I didn't get one of these in the end - guess I'll wait for the Samsungs to come out.

Id like to know what Hazro intend to do about this, they were obviously aware they were sending these monitors out with loads of dust in the screens or they wouldn't have replied in the manner they have.

I personally dont think its acceptable. Hazro should acknowledge our dissapointment and replace our monitors with good ones before we decide never to purchase another Hazro product.

This may sound harsh but in any climate £430 is a lot of money, i expect more.

Is my order number OCxxxxxxx the same as my tracking number?

I ordered on Wed night and haven't received a delivery card today. I also can't seem to track the order on DPD's website. The order is showing as 'complete' in my OCUK account...

Well I'm not giving up just yet with my HZ27WC. I've nearly got the perfect monitor. I don't have any dead pixels that much I know, just a couple of really, really small bits of dust in the top left and bottom right (top left is slightly more noticable).

The thing is the more I use this monitor the more I want to keep it as I do think its a cracking monitor. Games look really good such as BFBC2, the pixel pitch is so tight you don't need loads of AA. I only use 2xAA and it does look amazing.

I am so keen to know how you can take off the glass front (it can only be bonded in with some sealant I reckon) I know with a couple of tiny wipes of a lint free cloth (that's all it needs) and I've got the best monitor you can get for the money and blows the competition out of the water as it's only a few tiny specs of dust that is stopping it being that.

Come on Hazro tell me what I need to do to take the glass off!

This could potentially save a lot of returns/DSR's being sent back with such a simple remedy. I'm sure most people would do this to cure their problems as it seems from what I can gather more of a dust problem here not dead pixels.

Shed some light on this please Hazro!

Are they really noticeable in normal use?

Unless you are in a hermetically sealed environment you are going to have more than two bits of dust settled on the front of the glass all the time. You wouldn't be able to clean them off fast enough not to have.

If you can remove the glass you would have to be very careful when you wipe away the two bits of dust underneath not to introduce more yet more dust, there is dust floating around everywhere even out doors.

I only notice them when there is a lot of white, but you have to look for them if you know what I mean.

Yes I realise that but I'm sure if I can take the glass off easy enough I am confident I can get rid of the two specs of dust. Where mine are located I would not take the whole glass panel off anyway, I would just raise it enough to wipe the affected area, so that should also reduce any other dust getting in. The whole procedure of removing the dust should only take a few seconds. Reseal it with a touch of silicon bonding (does not have to anything heavy duty). Job sorted.

I have got to also add I do love the mega low input lag on these HZ27WC.

Removing the glass is not advised but it can be done with perseverance and patience. Without access to a clean room, the results may not be satisfactory.

On some units, the glass is bonded with adhesive - on others, 3M double sided adhesive tape is used which requires a heat gun to soften the adhesion. Our engineers have scalpels which fit in between the cavity between the trim and the glass. Starting at the bottom, the scalpel makes it way around the glass behind the black borders. The glass itself is lifted with suction cups which are not entirely necessary. Removal takes around 10minutes but without the right equipment, it can take considerably longer.

The glass is fairly durable but should it break, replacements are available. We also have different colored trims: gold, white, black, red, pink. Infact, any color is possible and we're looking to offer this as an option in the near future [once these models have matured in the market].
