Battlestar Galactica (now containing quite minor spoilers)

Last few episodes of season 3 for me and still enjoying it.

Really is a great show and I want to know who the frack the remaining cylons are :D

I thought the final episode of BSG was .... well a bit of a cop out. Some closure yes but I think they wrapped it all up a bit too quickly and neatly.

Thought the final episode of Lost was better. Had a tear in my eye watching Ben and hearing his last line. He was the only reason I watched it all the way through.
 
watched the last of Season 1 last night, then the first two from season 2. Not as much of a reveal as I wanted, its basically the same series with an extended break in it. Its still a really good series, but I so far cant see all of the 'best series ever' praise it gets. Its not like the Wire where I could immediately see what all the fuss was about.
 
Remember to watch the movie after you've finished the series. "The Plan" goes deeper into the Cylon side of things and is rather very good.

Actually i'm a huge BSG fanboy but i thought The Plan was the first real bum note the franshise hit. The first 20mins are interesting and then it became dull and weird
 
If you enjoyed BSG it might be worth having a look at Caprica. It's set prior to the Cylon uprising. While it has many flaws, it really fleshes out the psychology of the cylons, especially their belief in the "one true god" and their hatred of their creaters (parents). It's been cancelled now, but it's well worth watching if only for the final few scenes in the last episode.

Just ordered season 4 and 5. I just cannot believe what happened, whilst the final lead up was a little obvious up until that point I would never, ever have guessed who it was!

1 more cylon to go! Amazing series! :eek:
 
Caprica

I haven't seen Caprica yet :(.

Just looking online you can only buy Caprica on DVD - no Blu Ray, and Lovefilm won't even rent it to you! Maybe I'm just grumpy, but it's 2011 and I'm not buying a DVD at £25... especially when it was originally broadcast in HD!

Has anyone here bought it? The Audio apparently is in both English and French (select which track) and the subtitles are an optional track rather than being burned into the image. Obviously region is fine, as both UK & France are Europe B. The disc menus are in French, but they're not exactly hard to understand.
Lots of the Americans are having problems with the fact that it's 1080i50 (their players will only do 24 or 60) but that shouldn't be a problem for us Brits, and I personally plan on converting it to uncompressed MKV and then playing it through Plex/XBMC on the HTPC anyways.

Bad acting, bad special effects, feels like low budget and should in no way whatsoever be related to BSG!
 
Yeah, there was a reason it was cancelled. Only worth watching the last episode for the last 5mins where they show you where season 2 was going to go. In fact i'm sure it's on You Tube somewhere
