*** Nexus 7 2nd Gen thread ***

heres a some shots of my new case alongside my old nexus 7 and the old poetic case

bought from here

the case is a lot sturdier than the old poetic case on the nexus 7 (a good thing), it's hard for it to fall over once set, unlike the old poetic which could easily be knocked over.

the case fits perfectly, it has a magnetic close function, as well as velcro to strap the nexus 7 into the case snug and tight so no chance of it coming loose.

also has a stretchy handle thing, which works well, as well as a slot for a stylus to keep everything together.

it also fits inside my mofi pouch with the case on. this adds a second layer of protection when i am transporting the nexus in say a bag, etc.

you can see the mofi pouch below

the only bad thing I can say is that it has a straight edge where it wraps around the phone whereas the old poetic case wrapped around the edge, this causes it to be a bit uncomfortable to use with the handle.

that is the only gripe i have with it otherwise it is perfect.

i much prefer the surround of this over the new nexus cases which is why i went for a minisuit over a poetic case.

You need a few plastic Android toys for your desk and a plush Angry Bird for your bed.

Purchased! :D

Has anyone else noticed the nexus 7 randomly rebooting ?
Its never happened while in use but if I were to put it down after using it I can see it reboot :-(

I've done a quick search online and seems to be a lot of people with the same issue , some say turning location services off solves it but no joy

They stopped for me when I stopped using Chrome.

Got an email from Asus yesterday about my wayward Nexus 7;

We thoroughly regret the inconvenience caused due to the repair process of your unit.

Unfortunately we have to check this case internally as there seems to be some confusion about the repair centre who supposed the repair our new Nexus unit. We will chase this outcome and arrange a speedy repair for your unit once resolved.

So I have to wait while they work out which part is there **** and which is there elbow. Emailed them back suggesting it would be a good idea to just ship me a replacement then sort out there internal issues.....nothing.

How come you didn't just send it back to the retailer? Or did you get yours from the US

My tablet has been great over the last week or so, but i came to use it this morning and when i tried to wake it up it did nothing. I thought maybe it was switched off so held the power button down for a few seconds but a white light at the bottom then flashes 5 times.

Does anyone know what this means?

Was the 30 quid saving worth it?

Didn't buy it for a saving mate bought it for something to play with when I went away, as it happen I got unlucky with a faulty unit closely followed by bumbling idiots.

Was the smart-**** post worth it?

Not cool.

Talon, I can sympathise as I have had issues with 2 UK units.

Did you just contact ASUS direct and tell them you had a US version, were they alright with accepting it in for repair ?

You should press for a replacement once they answer your email/get back to you.

Best of luck.

Yeah i hope you get it sorted soon fella.

I took mine in to Currys at dinner, they seemed unawate of what the 5 blinking lights meant and swapped it over for me :)

Yeah, I am in the same situation as Talon as my nexus 7 wireless charging has stopped working. I been holding off from contacting Asus as mine is an import from the US.

I got my nexus 7 2nd gen at the weekend and Mt say it's surprising how much smoother it seems to run.
Unfortunately I get distortion from my speakers when playing something with audio (regardless of source vlc, YouTube etc) and regardless of volume level (obviously not when muted).
Really don't want to have to send it off to try and get it fixed, but guess I'll probably have to... :(

Nexus 7 2nd Gen features a superb 7" IPs screen with a resolution of 1920x1200.
Screen is well calibrated and colour reproduction is excellent.
