*** Nexus 7 2nd Gen thread ***

Not sure about the Iphone 4 but i use my iphone 4s as a hotspot for mine.

Whats annoying me is that using the headphone socket it doesn't seem very load and i keep getting messages popping up about me damaging my hearing listening at excessive volumes. Can these be turned off?

Blame the EU for that :/

I rooted my Note 2 and someone created a mod to increase the gain which i applied, works great. I'm sure something similar would happen with the N7

Yeah, I am in the same situation as Talon as my nexus 7 wireless charging has stopped working. I been holding off from contacting Asus as mine is an import from the US.

There was no problems getting an RMA, the cover on the warranty is international, unfortunately they seem almost entirely clueless after its been sent back. I don't think they have gear their systems up yet for the new model.

Awesome just ordered, thank you Quidco for £10 off and 3.5% cashback :D shame OCUK's cashback is only at 1% now or would have ordered from here :(

Edit: How scratch resistant is the screen? Will I need a cover for transporting it in a briefcase?

Is anyone else having audio distortion from the speakers (this is noticeable at the lowest volume so it's not a too loud issue) but not the headphone jack?

Has anyone got a download link for the latest paranoid android ROM please? I tried flashing yesterday but it failed, thinking I've got the wrong version or something, worked fine on my Nexus 4 a few works ago. Thanks in advance.

Whilst the glass seems reasonably scratch resistant (uses Gorilla glass I believe) I'd probably get a cover for peace of mind. I use a Poetic case with an integrated stand which works well for watching videos etc.

Just sold my trusty HP Touchpad 16GB for a Nexus 7 2013 32GB :D

I don't think I needed the 32GB but it's nice to have the option to load up a lot of TV series if I travel away/go on holiday.

Picked up a case for mine from the Rainforest. The MOFRED® Black New Google Nexus 7 2 II Tablet (Launched July 2013) Case-MOFRED® Executive Multi Function Standby Case with Built-in Magnet for Sleep / Wake feature for the Google Nexus 7 II-2nd Generation Tablet 16GB or 32GB.

Pretty good for around a tenner. Some pics below. So far the autosleep/wake function is working every time.

Fair enough - different uses. Mine will be mainly used indoors in comfy surroundings :D

Performance on the N7 was superb though.

i use mine mainly indoors too, and my 10 inch tablet was just far too bulky to use comfortably.

i have a pretty decent ultrabook anyway should i need something larger or more powerful, etc.

then there's the pc, etc as well.

for me 7 inch is the right size for a tablet, any bigger and your better off with a laptop imo.

the same way i think that the largest a phone should ever be is around 5 inches maximum, any bigger and it becomes too bulky.

Does anyone know of a way to rotate the screen without picking the tablet up and tilting it to get the orientation i want?

Sometimes i can be watching a video in MX player and when it finishes and i close the app the tablet is "upside down" and i have to pick it up and tilt it towards me to rotate the screen. Bar turning on the rotate lock is there anything else i can do?

I have the moko one and it seems pretty good so far :)

Don't have it with me at work today though so can't take any pictures.

I've had it on mine for the last 3 weeks and it's great, adds next to no bulk, sleep/wake sensor works every time and looks good.

MiniSuit case imo is till the best I have seen, better than the moko and the mo-fred above.

Fit is perfect, has the best surround, has a hand strap, has a stylus pen holder, stand, perfectly aligned holes, etc.

It's around the £10 mark too so pretty cheap imo for such a quality case.
