** OcUK EXCLUSIVE: SUPERFLOWER POWER SUPPLIES NOW IN STOCK!! **

As you guys following this thread know the new Leadex PSU's by Superflower arrived at OCUK only afew days ago. With my range of systems demanding the highest quality and stability in a PSU whilst remaining quiet in operation I decided to give the 1200w unit a heavy workout with some serious hardware. What caught my eye about this 1200w unit was its Platinum certification which is truly rare at this wattage. Pack going all green?? never!!! But more stable consistent power lets give em a try!!!

For the testing I chose some hungry components. Several 1200w PSU are not doing well with three or above 290X especially with high overclock on the cards and high clock on CPU also. Some simply wont even run this config at stock!!!

Knowing this I based the testing around 3 R290X in 3 way Xfire, on a Gigabyte OC which is incredibly fast and efficient in multi GPU upto three way and a 4770K Haswell CPU. First I ran all at stock Heaven Bench HWbot edition which draws a lot of power and has many PSU crumbling. No problem!!!. I then clocked the cards to 1185+ Core 1550+ Memory with 1.4V per card core volts. Again the Leadex is providing all the power these cards need. The bench completes with the system stable.

Time to crack open the dewar and pour some LN2. My best CPU's for benching at home with the Galaxy OC comp looming but I hoped I still had enough to challenge for at least some spoils with what was on hand ;). I then took the CPU to 6.2ghz with memory of 2600. CPU voltage was 1.67v and DDR 1.9. That's some serious draw. Still the Leadex is rock stable and the system completes the bench with a world record score for three cards of 8548.869. This beats the previous record by over 300pts and is only 37 or so points shy of the best ever four card run. 8548.869 being the second highest Heaven run on HWbot with any amount of cards.

I knew that four cards on the OC would not be efficient and yield a great score due to the low bandwidth to four cards and the lack of PLX chip which you can find in the OC Force but as I had the rig out I though I would test the PSU out against 4 R290X in quad fire all at 1180 and 1550 with CPU at 6.2ghz. The system was again stable and passed the bench mark first run.

As you can tell from the above results. The Leadex 1200w PSU seriously impressed me. Infact its the strongest I have tested of all 1200w to date and will be the PSU of choice for the new spec Polaris and Supernova 8Pack systems such is its quality, stability and performance.

Hi there

Great testing done today Ian, I told you these were pretty much the best PSU I've ever seen and great to hear your also very impressed.

Fact some other gold rated 1200W power supplies struggle with three 290X's is proof alone how good the Superflower is to easily handle four 290X's without issue. As I've said they are actually about the equivalent to a silver/gold 1400-1600W power supply which are normally closer to £300, they are both exceptional value and quality.

Also something else to note, we've seen other 1200W PSU's get a little noisy with three graphics cards or clicking if a digital unit. The super flower actually remains very quiet indeed and there is no clicking.

To put it simply anyone who is seeking the absolute best power supply or has a tri/quad crossfire/sli machine the Superflower Leadex 1000/1200 are the best we sell out of all the high-end power supplies, simply superb. :)

I followed this since they were announced here but not in a hurry for Super Flower (price increased by £50 once they came back in stock and way above my budget). As good as they are, I'm sticking with what I already have. I'm sure others will snap them up this week.

Ordered one last week and the ETA was last week (1300w GOLD ones). Have they let you know a new ETA yet? Might swap the order to one you have in stock if it's going to be a while...

Wow that sucks, 76 pounds more than ocuk's sister site casking sells them for.

What gives?

Problem for Corsair is, AX series is EOL, big big shame.

The AXi I simply don't rate it, they click and are certainly not quiet at all due to the constant clicking they do in a very demanding rig. :(
AX Gold is EOL, being replaced by AX Platinum. AX is NOT EOL.

Jonnyguru replied to a post yesterday, and well he works for Corsair in the USA, so I guess he knows lol. :)

Cheap Seasonic 7 year warranty PSU's, happy days lol. :)

Thinking about going for this one:

Is there any chance this is going to be one of the christmas deals or today only deals in the next few days? I'd rather not buy it then find it's £30 cheaper next week.

Also, perhaps a stupid questions - What is the difference between the GOLD and Platinum versions? I know very little about PSUs.

Thanks,

Unfortunately no sorry. :(

PSU Shortage. :(

We've got 12 left and were selling 15 a week, so please order quick.

Ah, fantastic - Thank you for that.
I guess I don't worry too much about that, so I'm ok to save myself a few pennies and go with the gold one.

Thanks again!
Yeah you may as well save some cash, put it towards something else.

In some cases like the Corsair HX 750 which was Silver rated, it could pass as Gold, so the difference isn't much between any of them, you kinda pay a higher premium for the higher the 80 Plus certification.

I've just ordered it. Since my last PSU was only 650w and then I replaced it with one (from elsewhere) which died within 48 hours, it's time to invest in a proper power supply.

I'll make sure to put a review on the product page on OcUK when it arrives and i've had time to install it etc. Although I can't say much about all of the power specifications etc (Since I am clueless with that), I can say how it looks and how easy/difficult it is to set up / any gripes. I'm sure it will be fine though, i'm hoping for this to last a good few years. My TX650W Corsair served me so well, 5 years.. still running, never one problem.
Thanks again Nelly for your advice, I think you saved me some cash :).. and waiting too as the platinum is out of stock.

It arrived, I am glad to say the box looks almost exactly like the pictures already on the forum.. haha. I don't have much to add, I haven't installed it yet, but as always - a great service from OcUK. OcUK are the only company I ever seem to get a delivery slot text in the morning from to say exactly the hour that it will arrive, and the only company to always be next day as promised. Saves waiting in the whole day. Recently ordered something from a competitor (A PSU which died).. waited in the WHOLE day, got it late afternoon (not too bad). Then installed it and used it for a day, it broke and I had to remove it.. (wasted another day),.. then had to wait in the whole of the next day for a pickup for RMA.. *sigh*. The lesson I have learnt, stick with OcUK and as the saying goes "buy cheap,.. buy twice". P.S, if this PSU fails too I will eat my words and will phone up OcUK crying.

How silent is the 500w Fanless when it comes to electrical noise ?

My system will probably pull around 300w max but I can't stand electrical noise, already sent back two Season P520 FL's (different supplier) because they emitted a buzzing which was very audible (even from a metre away). I know they were faulty because my brother has the same PSU with zero electrical noise, I've even tried his PSU connected to my system (to eliminate my components) with the same silent results. This has put me off buying that model, seems like a lottery as to whether you get a good one or not.

What's the returns policy like for audible buzzing with the Superflower fanless PSU ?

All reviews state zero buzzing and no electrical noise, they are quieter than the Seasonic versions for sure.

We've sold about 30 units so far, not a single one returned, so customers very happy with them, as always buy one, if your not impressed, send it back under 14 day DSR terms we offer. :)
