** OcUK EXCLUSIVE: SUPERFLOWER POWER SUPPLIES NOW IN STOCK!! **

1500W EVGA SuperNOVA NEX1500 Classified, 750W/650W EVGA SuperNova's have loud fans, average reviews - do not buy.

No reviews of the SuperFlower lower wattage PSU's, I doubt they will be loud at all, need them testing properly by Techpowerup, Jonnyguru etc.

I'm saying the SuperFlower PSU's are brilliant, but they are overpriced, mainly due to retailer wanting to make good profit margin, and supply/demand.

EVGA give 10 year warranty and usually priced 25% cheaper, why would I buy a SuperFlower?

SuperFlower Leadex Platinum 1000W or EVGA Supernova P2 1000W, you are getting the same unit, except different coloured cables on the EVGA, and no 50 pence extra of LED cable sockets, they both run quiet.

See this graph below for the above PSU's running ECO mode.

Read through reviews, that's what I do, the proof is in the pudding so to speak.

At the time i had been through 2 silverstone striders (one was making a buzzing noise the other, the on/off switch didnt work) in one week all from new

So i wanted one with a decent warranty, but excellent build quality etc and was told on the overclock forum the evga would be the best
Thats why i got it!

Anyway don't want to go off topic lol
But i do need a quieter psu whether its superflower or not, but they do seem to have good the reviews (the plat/gold higher watt versions)

My max budget is £150, which just about gets me the superflower 1000w gold
But it is massively overkill for my needs, but in the pursuit of silence may have to go down that route

That brings back memories PanMaster, Titanium cert. With Intel's obsession on power savings than increasing TDP for performance, now is a great time to buy a Titan PSU for desktop users than miners/folders.

Our next shipment shall be a lot more aggressively priced, so the pricing will match or beat EVGA.

Also note Superflower don't make the EVGA 1500W unit.

The NEX650/750 are FSP Aurum Pro, and the NEX1500 is Etasis.

Idk about the Amazon series, but there are plently of reviews on the Golden Green platform. The platform scales from like 300w-1300w.

The HX looks similar to the original GoldenGreen, except slightly cost down and Capxon on the primary instead of Nippon-chemicon.

Waiting to see some reviews of the HX golden green range, I'd be interested in the HX 650 or larger variants in the future.
Or potentially smaller versions of the leadex range :)

Also, what happened to the EVGA range at OCUK?

Since a 1200 platinum can cope with four overclocked 290x's would it cope with two under-volted 7990s and a 290?

For the whole system from the wall I'd say no myself being cautious. However, I think Gibbo said the 1200W Platinum is capable of pulling up to 1600W which backup being able to run four 290s. TDP under load probably 420W each for stock 7990s and 300W for 290 = 1140W for GPUs only. If someone can confirm they are capable of much more than 1200W you can run them with moderate overclocks for your mining if that was your plan James :)

Another consideration is the amps on the 12V as each 290 requires 41A. The 1200W Platinum will officially give you 99.9A whereas the 1300W Gold is 108.3A. I'm sure the 290s are getting more without issue and have no idea on the actual ampage each 290 is receiving for the PSU not to struggle.

I'm happy to add a 2nd PSU and would prefer to be safe than sorry but was just toying with the idea really.

My mate who's running two 7990s on a 1200W Gold PSU said he was pulling just over 1000 from the wall but he has water cooling, numerous fans, hard drivers and his cards aren't under volted and I could always lower clocks if need be to help. I've got an SSD, CPU fan, underclocked 4670k and my 7990s are running lower volts too so I should be a lot less.

thanks for the reply though, I guess I need to get myself a power meter to see exactly what i'm using!

Bloody how long are the cables on the golden green 650w?!!
(Not tested it yet, waiting on motherboard)
Received mine today to put in my fortress ft03 case.... Big mistake!
I thought the 140mm psu would help but the cables are massive on it..
Going to seriously mod the case/cable manage now

Any word on whether or not you'll be getting a 750watt gold rated in the Leadex range? Noticed your big bro caseking have them but would rather get it locally if possible xD

Same... I missed out on the 'this week' deal for the 1000w 80+ gold at £130 (from £150) and was hoping it would go down again today but instead it's gone up £20! :(

Overclockers have acknowledged and are resolving the problem. No further need for this post.
I'm a little embarrassed that I brought Mr Grumpy with me, this is because of the old OCUK.
Modern OCUK is so much better. I appreciate everyone's help.

Pre-ordered one of these sexy 1200w units about a month ago for my Caselabs matte white build (I was starting/doing an 8-pack build before he appeared on OCUK). It finally arrived wednesday ahead of the quoted 28/02/2014 restock date. OCUK sent me the 1000w instead. I did an RMA and sent back on Wednesday. They did a "This Week Only" deal on the new stock. I noticed this morning all the 1200w units were sold, I emailed OCUK to say "Please tell me you kept me one of those units for replacement" This is pretty poor after using this company for so many years, even put up with the old 'bad' overclockers. No other company is making a supply that matches this well. This really blows.
You don't expect to spend something like £4000 with a company over the next six months to be undermined by a dumbass mistake nor wait a month on pre-order only to be screwed.

Someone could have at least tried to put this right.

Hi there

Sorry to hear about this, I've pointed this out to our customer services who will hopefully be in touch on Monday to try and resolve this for you in a way which benefits/helps you, as afterall looks like our mistake. So give us a chance to resolve for you please. :)
