I got one of the Songmics 10 watch ones from Amazon for 15 quid and the quality is great. :cool:

Watches are very personal, I would spend £2k on something from Omega but you will probably want something different.
Are you looking for a watch with a visible movement, a dive watch or a classic dress watch?

I am primarily looking for a mens dress watch but perhaps something that wouldn't look completely out of place with a shirt and jeans. At the moment, I am thinking of Longines Watches- Longines Master Collection Automatic Chronograph.

Whatever that movement is in the Parnis, it seems to keep time well, very well in fact. Better than the ETA in the Steinhart.

I think if you like the watch, get it anyway, £65 is not going to break the bank when you are thinking of £2k, and if you find one with a named brand that you like, then get that too. You can always wear the Parnis as a daily or something when you want to wear the expensive one out.

Just had to have this after seeing it. Really is a beautiful watch in the flesh

Got this today from my wife for my 40th in a few days. Haven't worn a watch in years but will be from now on. Ive been wanting a nice watch for ages and this one feels and looks great. ( apart from the smudge finger marks on the glass :D)

Great thread this. A real eye opener for me is the fact that you don't have to spend thousands to get a "nice" watch. I really like Panris watches for example. Which brings to the conclusion that this will be an expensive, habit forming thread... I've already bought a watch box because I read about it here!

I wear a Seiko Ventura Kinetic Direct Drive btw. I also own another two Seikos but I'm not sure what models they are. As you may have guessed, I quite like Seiko...
