***Official AMD Mantle Thread***

Great news!

How many mantle games is this now, 7?

Remember all the times people from the nvidia camp would mention about there only being 1-2 games with mantle and that no one wanted to use it.... :p

It would be great if AMD could get a few more BIG titles/engines with mantle support, even if they could just get GTA 5, it would be a massive plus point.

GTA5 will be the holy grail of Mantle games... That will sell AMD GPU's no doubt.. I hope its true man.

Nvidia Camp can keep on Counting :p because the list is growing fast.

haha indeed, I chuckle to myself every time a new engine/game announces mantle support, so there is yet another game to the list...

People seem to forget that it takes time to develop and release games and personally I think that it's pretty impressive the amount of games and game engines that now support mantle considering it is a fairly new API and something that only works for AMD GPU users.

Look at DX 9 etc. when they first came out and the length of time it took till we got DX 9 etc. games.

There are two main reasons that are keeping me with AMD atm and that is mantle + probably a better choice of freesync monitors over gsync monitors.

As well as the exciting work Samsung are doing with AMD & Freesync, I'm pleased to let you know that another developer is evaluating Mantle.

In addition, Capcom announced its collaboration with AMD on the AMD Mantle API to enhance Capcom's "Panta-Rhei" engine, enabling enhanced gaming performance and visual quality for upcoming Capcom game titles.
"This will improve the performance of our 'Panta-Rhei' engine, which was originally developed for console platforms," said Masaru Ijuin, technical director, Capcom. "Capcom is evaluating AMD's Mantle technology to help improve the graphics pipeline, and integrate it into 'Panta-Rhei' to provide outstanding benefits and impressive performance for gamers as well as the gaming developers."
AMD's Mantle API technology has been adopted by major developers including Crytek's CRYENGINE®, DICE's FrostBite 3 and Oxide's Nitrous engine.
"Samsung and Capcom are strategic partners in helping us bring our revolutionary IP and technology to the homes and offices of consumers around the world," said David Bennett, corporate vice president, AMD APJ. "As we expand our product influence in the commercial sector, we believe open standard technologies like AMD FreeSync and software advancements like our Mantle API will play integral roles in driving the industry forward."

FutureMark working on a Mantle benchmark?

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.golem.de%2Fspecials%2Ffuturemark%2F&sandbox=1

From German translation.

On an AMD event held Futuremark has first outcome of the next 3DMark presented. The program tests the first DirectX 12 and Mantle in comparison, and yet the interfaces are the same speed. Even before DX12 appears, you will Mantle in other ways can test very soon.
http://translate.google.com/transla...-schnell-in-3dmark-1411-110700.html&sandbox=1

As part of AMD's event "Future of Compute" Futuremark has provided a roadmap for the further development of 3DMark. Since the program carries no date or other suffix, always new tests are added to the benchmark. Since early 2013, then appeared the current 3DMark, the program is continually evolving.

A public roadmap has never existed but until now. Yet in 2014 a feature test for Mantle should appear according to the plan. So far, AMD's low-level API that the processor greatly relieve may only supported by a few games. An independent benchmark, which also works with various interfaces, would help in comparing both GPUs as well as the relief of CPUs. Values for its Mantle test but has not yet submitted on the AMD event Futuremark.

Nice one bug.:)

Mantle v DX12 will be interesting.

Can DX negate Mantle?

Or will Mantle be strong enough?

AMD, this is your opportunity to get the absolute best out of your api and give DX12 a hard run for the honours.:)

I think i read in it somewhere: According to Futuremark DX12 and Mantle performance is identical.
