Post Your Home Cine & HiFi Kit...

I think I will.

I watched a lot of stuff last night, I thought I knew what deep blacks were with my Panny plasma, I was wrong.

It's even better when the Gamma is calibrated to BT.1886 for your movies when the lights are out, complete darkness. For every other viewing he'll likely target 2.2 for room lighting.

Some bits new some bits old, AV receiver and surround speakers due to be upgraded soon, sorry about the quality of pictures.

  • Sony 55" X8505
  • Pioneer-VSX322k
  • Cambridge Audio S-Series Active SW
  • Expensive Center Speaker, forget the name
  • Phillips Surround Speakers
  • Nintendo Wii
  • Sony PS4
  • SKY HD
  • Intel I3 4130 8GB RAM HTPC
  • OneForAll Remote which does everything including the PC

So the HTPC connects via internal gigabit LAN to a My Movies Media Server upstairs which doubles as my main PC.

Time for the bad pictures, not only can you see me but my socks also, I've got a mount in the post for the center speaker, the floor is not where its staying.

Whilst i'm in an apartment and dont have a garage to keep tools in, I'm holding off building my own rack. For now I got this trolley rack out of Ikea's bargain corner reduced from £60 to £20 cause it was dirty ex-display and a wheel was missing. Their loss!

These are actually about 3 month old pics from when I first moved in to my new place, everything was plugged in and going but still tidying and sorting bits months on. On top of that screen may be going back to be replaced! Will post some better pics when all finished, whenever that may be, current picture quality is terrible apologies it was really just a first test with everything on.

I'm in the middle of an upgrade to our home cinema setup after 15 years of use.. Partner/Fiance has secondary breast cancer and she cant take it with her so she's had a splurge. Cables now in walls, Decorating under way kit to be installed around the 23rd. Pictures to follow.

Not posted any pics in here for ages so here goes. Picture looks washed out in the first pic but that's because of the flash on the phone. I only watch movies on this setup and i'm very happy with it all, and especially with the price as it's all cost me less than a grand including the HTPC. Next on the upgrade list is a new TV. The ancient toshiba CRT is only used for catchup services from the now tv box but it does a better job with standard def than any modern tv so i'm in no real rush to replace it yet.

Got nearly 700 1080p bluray movies now all in 5.1 / 7.1 DTS/DTS-HD, True HD or HEVC.

£60? Is that all they go for these days? Epic value for a fantastic AV amp!

Love the black and white theme, looks great.

What's that nipple thing on the wall between the rear speakers?
