Post Your Home Cine & HiFi Kit...

Projector arrived this morning... Sony HW40ES... still waiting on the ceiling mount and proper screen that should arrive at the beginning of next week.

Currently sitting on some ikea shelving unit and projecting onto an extra large bed sheet at 120" haha :D

The colour reproduction / gradient handling etc is awesome... the reviews were good, but it has exceeded my expectations already and it's on a bodged sheet :D

Ah, didnt notice your location. I guess that makes what would have been my next question about warranty in the UK no problem or concern for you. Lucky, wish we werent ripped off so much in the UK. V tempted to buy from the US for £1299.

Comes with 3 year warranty on the unit + 1 year/1000 hours on the lamp :)

You would still have to pay shipping on top of that and it's not a small or light unit.

Then there's import tax and VAT... if it is sent the proper way, although there are usually ways to avoid them.

You might be better of sourcing in EU.

Mine cost 1950 Euros... at current exchange rate, that's about £1450... including local taxes and shipping.

Dang good price... and I was preparing myself to pay £2k for it as I'd read all the rave reviews :)

The white one, for some reason, is 200-300 euros cheaper than the black version... I would have normally picked black I suppose... but no issue as it's being mounted on a white ceiling with white/yellow walls.

And if I ever get the opportunity to build a proper home cinema then it'll be hiding somewhere dark so is not so bad.

The white gloss finish is decent enough though... it's not an ugly unit :)

The OLED TV I ordered on Boxing Day is up and running.

I cannot stress enough how good the image is. I thought I may be disappointed after having a Panny plasma for a few years. I couldn't have been more wrong, the first time I put something on it I said 'wow' out loud.

Love the look of the Monitor Audio speakers. They seem pretty popular if this thread is anything to go by. I was hoping to see someone with some Warfedale Diamond speakers to see what they look like setup in a living room but havent seen a single one :(.

After what seems a lifetime, finally have my kit set up: (sorry taken with a potato)
