Just taken our first step into 'proper' AV. Friends are emigrating to the US, so I've picked up their kit.

Onkyo 608 Amp
Mordaunt Short 902i Bookshelf Speakers (Fronts)
Mordaunt Short 905i Centre
Mordaunt Short 904i Floorstanders (Rears)

Whilst it may seem odd to put the Floorstanders at the back, its the only place there is space for them. We also live in a Semi Detached house, and the rear is away from the joining wall so as to show my neighbours *some* respect.

First impressions are that it sounds brilliant, and I haven't even got the speakers set up properly yet. The floorstanders have more than enough low end kick for what I need, and the reality of life is a 15 month old baby and 2 dogs limits the reality of AV expenditure !

Will do some install pics once I've got a cab and the shelving sorted for it all.

Very happy :)

Little old now as I've changed the amp to an SC2024 and the large Silverstone case has been replaced with a gen 5 NUC.

LG 55" OLED TV.
Pioneer SC 2024 AV Amp
SONOS Connect
Sky+ HD
Monitor Audio BX5 and BX Center
BK Electric sub

Thinking of replacing the floorstanders with Silver 8's.

Nowt special.

55" LG TV and LG soundbar
Cyrus 8 amp
Cyrus 8 CD Player
Cyrus PSX-R power
Q Acoustics 3050 speakers
There's a raspberry pi tucked round the back for XBMC

Haribo in the bowl in front as I had a recent delivery from OCUK :D

There have been a few upgrades to my system these last few months.

A Marantz AV7701 AV pre replaced the old SR4200 I had been running for the past 10 years. It is certainly good enough at stereo that I don't find it sounding any worse than the dedicated luxman amp I ran previously. (The luxman has been shifted into the office running another system) The sub has been rebuilt using a SEAS L26ROY 10" driver and a 250W plate amp. Probably the biggest single upgrade I've made as it blends in better with the speakers and boy does it drop low. I chose to stick with the Tannoy super red monitors in preference to the spendor SP2/3's and my diy KEF chorales. I'm still running no centre now and still not greatly missing it.

Current spec is as follows:

Panasonic 50" UT50B plasma
Tannoy Super Red Monitor 10B
Homebuilt SEAS L26ROY ported sub
In ceiling 6.5" rear speakers (long overdue replacement)
Marantz AV7701 pre/pro
InterM R300 power amp (Front)
Harrison Xi150 power amp (Rear)
Harrison Xi150 power amp (headphones for now, will be used for centre eventually)
Thorens TD 160B Turntable
Sony MDS-E11 pro minidisc recorder
Humax HDR-FOXT2 PVR
Panasonic BDT120 bluray
Cambridge Audio DVD57
Tascam CD-RW901 Pro

Marantz AV7701

Rebuilt sub. (Sans aluminium feet)

The full rack as is. Sub buried under my sound desk and headphones.
