Dell S2716DG - Dells first G-sync

So... after DPD failed to deliver mine as they went to FLat 29 and not House 29! I managed to get the Driver to come back.. however I was at work and the Mrs took delivery of the Dell.. Only to see a massive hole in the box! Mrs took pics good girl!
I got straight on the phone to OcuK someone in Tech support said not a problem open the box and make sure it's ok, if you're not happy we'll do a Saturday swap!

Once I got home checked it out the hole only happens to be on the side the screen faces, slight scratching to the screen, Ocuk said i must check it only noticed the scratching with the power on. Oh and dead pixel right in the middle! but it's view able from about 6 feet! so this is going back! But after speaking with Ocuk who promised me Saturday, they now say only Monday is available unless I purchase a new monitor!

I'm gutted!

said the same to me on email. said i would get replacements on 4th jan , then said they will collect on 4th jan .

might give dell a bell/email see what they say , might get better panels direct from them .

saying all that though i do like the screens . a lot of money for 3 of them .

PCM2 or Badass is Pixel inversion a trait of the panel or a defect?

I honestly don't notice it in games, but for example if I am browsing the main page of this website when I scroll down I do notice that the black lines that separate all sections produce the faint horizontal lines across the page.

Edit - This is what I mean, I never had that with my Asus vg278h which was TN 1080p 120hz

Requested a replacement from Dell but due to the Holidays they will get back to me on Monday now.

Mine definately isn't like that mate.

I think I know what is causing this as I got Hazzard to replicate it too on his ROG Swift. Going to post it on Blur busters and have them confirm and find a solution.

you will be blown away , i have 3 of these in surround , i know the 2 i had yesterday are going back to be replaced due to 1 dead pixel on 1 and the other a very tiny bit of dirt ..not really noticeable the dirt but im not paying near £1300 for 3 monitors that 1 has dirt in it could cause problems , but my god 3 in surround is so impressive. and with the thin bezel it makes it even better . the 1 i had last week is near perfect and such a pleasure to game on , with all 3 on max settings without AA im getting 120fps with project cars and oh boy does it feel good . it takes some getting use too as the immersive effect made me dizzt for first 20 mins as your eyes need to adjust. cant go back now ,
even crysis 3 im getting 70-80 fps on max settings with not AA , with water turned down to high .

I know they are cheaper at the moment but as much as I'd like to, I can't afford it right now. Boo

Just seen a deal site that is hot in the UK that these were on sale with a big discount on a big on-line retailer, looks like that sold out with a few minutes.

Probably a misprice?

anyone know how to take the back off this monitor?
I have a small gap on the power switch side and apart from that its perfect so id prefer not to send it back.

Cheers

I have this on mine it looks awful, took some pics to show customer support to send back, they asked for more pics, are they trying to get out of it . not heard back as of yet, no problems with the screen though just the bottom panel power switch part.

My one is going back, as the panel by the power switch has not been fitted properly but bailey is sorting it for me, pleased with the service from overclockers so far, the screen had no bleed or dead pixels, such a shame really but hopefully i can get a door to door switch over as i cant get out at the moment after back surgery.

Just noticed the same on mine, but I'm that happy with the screen I'm not risking sending it back just for that. I only noticed it after seeing this pic! lol

Regarding the pixel inversion artifacts (or interlacing pattern artifacts as I prefer to call them), they seem to occur on all of the current 2560 x 1440 TN panels. So it isn't something you should be sending back to Dell and claiming it as defective as the replacement will almost certainly be the same.

thanks for clearing that up. I don't notice it in gaming but will try pcars later in the week. As for the desktop issue I am having it is definitely smooth scrolling causing it.

Fair play to Ocuk! I moaned abit on the phone, but they are sending a replacement out on saturday! and collecting the faulty monitor on monday.

thank you very much! just hope DPD don't mess this one up!

Does the same go for vertical lines? as in black lines sometimes appearing during fast motion on lighter coloured objects etc?

As in this dudes video. You can just about make em out in the search bar of the facebook page he is looking at if you fullscreen
