Dell S2716DG - Dells first G-sync

Just bought the monitor, should get it by wednesday, i hope its worth it, just got a 980ti and this, my bank balance is coughing though.

Guys what are you guys using to calibrate the picture quality ect? I see guys posting there settings via google drive.

Displaycalgui but unless you have a colorimeter or spectrophotometer the software is of no use to you, so what you can use is lagom.nl to do the basics by eye, but since there is no gamma control on the Dell you are limited to what you can do.
 
Totally agree owning this monitor i can say its very very nice and your 970 will drive it okay. The g-sync will make it much much smoother than if you had a non g-sync 1440p on a 970.

Improvements from previous profile is even more accurate gamma at 2.2 higher up the scale and better greyscale balance.

If you wish you can add no more than 56% digital vibrance from nvidia control panel which will give you a picture like this:

Desktop picture looks better as there isn't any white crush on BB8.

Cheers mate, will give this a go. Can you tell me where the vibrance setting is in the nvidia panel? struggling to find it!
 
Arrived about half an hour and no sign of any dead/stuck pixels so far. Do you guys know of any tutorials to get me up and running on colour settings/profiles etc as I feel a bit in it over my head (I'll only be gaming if that's any help) :)

MY god i just dont have any luck with monitors from this webiste .

1st i got seems good and not really checked it . but the 2 i had today , 1 has dirt in the screen , its very small but i know its there and can see it if im on facebook or bbc/sport website or any other sites with white backgrounds , tested number 2 and its got a DEAD/BLACK PIXEL 13cm down and 10cm in from left hand side and sticks out like a sore thumb , and i haven't even tested surround mode yet .

absolutely gutted .

god damn .

Prob a customer return, I remember when I bought a Hazro from here and it had the previous owners rma note at the bottom of the box. I know many of you guys are loyal to overclockers but when it comes to certain components and peripherals I don't trust them at all.

Hope you get it sorted.
 
Well was sorta hooked on this dell but a few things made me not get it and i got the acer xb27ohu instead.. Now i know it was a gamble with all the bad luck experiences that have been posted here with acer products but so fare its pretty good. Only slight issue is some glow in the lower right corner that becomes visible when it gets dark outside but it aint that bad and certainly nothing compared to the Dell u3415w i had 6 months ago. Going from 2560x1080 to 2560x1440 has actually yielded a performance boost :P. Certainly enjoying my 165hz ips goodness.
 
Has anyone come from a Korean qnix/x-star monitor to this one?

If so, was it worth it?

Been meaning to upgrade to a better quality monitor for some time now but nothing has really ticked my fancy until now.
 
Got mine today, it's a lovely bit of kit, but then i've only ever had the basic £120 screens.

0 Dead pixels, got my new 970 in also, not played anything yet though.

just to edit, Played about 3 hours BF4, looks soooooooooooooo much better, 1440p mostly ultra settings still over 100fps with 970.

If I order on line and pick up do I get DSR rights?

I wonder if I get them to allow me to open up in store and test / check it.

Was almost about to buy, but not happy that they may be sending out returns...
