I jumped on the £359.99 offer for the Palit GTX 1070, only to discover that it artifacts under load! This began after my initial benchmark test. Everything is running at stock. I'm not a happy bunny, as you can imagine!

Just bad luck buddy, if you've not touch anything then it should be a straight forward RMA. Worth checking temperatures just in case.

Maybe it is worth phoning tomorrow and seeing if they will put one aside to use if they accept your RMA.

I'm hoping that OcUK can arrange a direct swap, rather than me having to post the item at my own expense and wait for a replacement.
It's discouraging to say the least! I'm beginning to wonder why they were so cheap!

Got the same card on the same deal, ran that test first thing and was smooth as silk. So it's not an issue with all the cards,as others have said looks like a bad card so I'd just return it

Looks like a bad card. It happens unfortunately so id RMA it. Out of curiosity though have you tried a different driver and also used DDU?
I don't think it's a display driver issue, since it was seemingly fine to begin with. It completed the initial Fire Strike test and ended with a reasonable score, and I was testing GTA V's performance etc.

I will contact OcUK today.

I am getting similar artefacts if I push the core clock too much. Have you tried to lower it and see what your sweet value is?

As he said in the opening post: "Everything is running at stock."

Only card - an Nvidia - I've ever had do anything like this was RMA'd successfully for duff ram.

When I sent OCuk a message about Palit warranty procedures they said it would take a few weeks (as the card has to go to Hong Kong). I hope it will different for you, but that's what put me off a Palit 1060.

I'm hoping they will make an exception, seeing as this happened on day one! Hopefully they'll arrange to have it exchanged, or issue an immediate refund if I'm looking at a lengthy turnaround!

Yeah definitely.

"30 Days / Acceptance Period
You are entitled to reject goods if they are faulty (do not match the description, are not of satisfactory quality, or are not fit for purpose). You have up to 30 days to check the goods and contact us if there is a fault. You can decide to claim a full refund or request a repair/replacement."

Seems like you can just get a refund, no idea what they will do if you want a replacement as those cards aren't on sale anymore. I would imagine a repair would require them to send it away, giving you a few weeks waiting time.

I wouldn't entertain the notion of a repair. Personally, I'd expect to receive the next model up if they can't replace it like for like.

yeah, sounds like there should be no issue getting a refund or replacement and definitely no need to send it back to Mars ( or HK whatever it was ! ).

I've still yet to receive a response. Aren't they normally quite prompt? I might have to give them a call during my lunch break otherwise.

A 1080 for £359 would be such a bargain, would almost be around what Americans pay haha

I meant the next model up from the Palit Dual, such as the JetStream etc. An upgrade to a GTX 1080 would be wishful thinking. :P

I don't think there's any need for an "exception". You recieved an item which failed on the first day. Simply request a replacement (if that's what you want). If a replacement isn't available, you can either wait for it to be repaired or get a refund.
