The pricing on all these new cards was just looking a bit silly, so when saw DCU II for (edit: a good price) thought would just go for it.

I know that in many cases, even when OCed, it won't beat my current graphics setup, but at least I will no longer REQUIRE v-sync for games like BF3 to feel smooth :D

One day, further down the line will go back to crossfire when I feel GPU's are reasonably priced again, but for now, quite looking forward to giving this thing a go and clocking within an inch of it's life :)

End of day, when I give one of my Toxics to other half and sell the other, along with selling 5850 they currently using, this won't have cost very much, even if it is a down-grade in some respects.

Woohoo! New toy tomorrow!

Nice one , i bought the wife a new gfx card this week, i like msi/gigabyte and their service so i plumped for the gigabyte windforce version to try it out and its a great card , i know the 7950s are not looked on as great value but i have to say i dont care , im absolutely delighted with it , i have it back on stock clocks atm but it EASILY goes over 1ghz if required , i just don't need that clock on it though as its only in my 3rd pc which is just running an amd phenom II cpu at 3,6 so there wouldnt be any point.

You wont regret the card at all matey.

I think at(edit: the price i got it) it's way better value than a 7970 or GTX 580 :D

I know it's mahoosive, but when go crossfire/sli in future, will be with something much smaller :)

You know have spent plenty money on upgrades over the last while, but is first time am excited about a purchase in ages! :)

Hope is a good clocker, cause I normally don't have exceptional luck on that front :(

eyetrip Its gone up just after your first post the yesterday. I gave up waiting too, espically after i saw the apparent specs of the GTX 680. These are good value cards at this price. I was comming from a water cooled GTX 295 and to be honest, i was doing a full system rebuild and i was still happy with its performance.

You will love the DCU II cards they run very cool and very quiet. Just make sure the GPU and cooler are touching well when you get it, there are people saying the 79XX DCU II models are showing that they are not touching the GPU well. So you may need to stick a washer under the screws at the back and retighten it. It maybe 100% fine and the person that reviewed it got a bad one. Just check to be safe. They are fantastic coolers so don't be put off, I honestly think they are the best GPU coolers/non reference cards available from any company currently. Enjoy. :D

Yeah, after ordering I did see some references to what you are talking about regarding the contact of keatsink.

If I do land up with a problem card, I will simple return it.

Oh, and noticed it's the TOP version :D

So I really do think it's a good deal for OCed card with 3rd party cooler (provided it works)!

Good choice. I really like these cards, and really don't care about them using a triple slot cooler.

The fact is a triple slot cooler has more area for heat pipes and radiator and will thus end you up with a much cooler card. Given that the majority only use one card I can see why they are so popular.

Very nice looking cards too IMO. Just a shame it doesn't seem to share the back plate of its larger brother :)

Was really worried wouldn't fit my case when I opened it, but I have about 5mm to spare :D

Now to try some BF3.

On an aside, any way I can set higher OC limits in Afterburner? Current limit is 1100. Would like to see if can reach 1.2 with some extra volts :D

Get AB 2.2.0 Beta 12, it has a 1200 core limit.

God I'm tempted. Had a voucher as reward from work too so just got to wait for that to arrive!

Any idea on how/if this will fit in an Antec 300? tried google and a non stock Sapphire 7950 fits...

yea i posted about this the other day http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18383591

since then i have orderd it , was in the same boat waiting for nvidia cards , but edited*(at the price i see it at) was too good a price and really need an upgrade.

not worried about it taking up 3 slots as i will be sticking it in my Cosmos 2 with my asrock x79 extreme9 , so should have lots of space and slots.

Will give my results about the card when it comes

Have been running this at 1100/1500 at 1.14V looping heaven

Temps in Afterburner registered max of 71C

Not sure how reliable it is but used HWiNFO64 to monitor VRM temps and according to that they didn't go above 70C either.

I would have ordered one of these if they were double slot. 3 slots are just too much for my Sugu case unless I take a dremel to it.

Is it specific to beta 12? I have beta 14 installed and limit is 1100

Not sure, but it's the version that I'm using and the core has a max setting of 1200.
I was after something higher than 1100 when I first got my 7950 and this is what I found after a spot of googling.
