At last! another tiffy:)

Just in time before I get stomped again

Thanks for the news Rich!

I've got my 20,000 tiffy at last but one of my machines has suffered from catastophic failure ( seriously :() so it'll be a while before that's running again. Production = down :( !

Anyhow, how-do to hindu! Welcome to Team 10.

Not rightly sure what's up that the moment - won't turn on :(. Have a feeling it might be the PSU. It's been needing an upgrade for a while anyway, so here's to excuses!

I'll just leave a different one on in its place :) !

I'm getting my 200,000 tiffy ready to post... maybe this week, maybe next.. all depends on how good the units are I get.. the 364's i got recently boosted my performance by about 200ppd for a while, but they seem to have disappeared again.

Boohoo.. what happenned to all the nice QMD's and 600 pointers that had me up around 800ppd 6 months ago :(

Chris aka Kinnison.

Argh no tiffy for me this week, must try harder :D

Yes, it is sad there are no more of the large point units going. The best I have is a 404 point one. Mostly I am getting 239. I suppose it works out though.

Lucky you i have a few 56 pointers again argh. Or thoose ludicusly slow 2500 (208 points i think) 4 days on a 2.8 P4..

There is some pretty hefty work available for beta testing at the moment, probably better suited to A64 and above as my XP is choking on them a little.

Please don't join the beta group just for the extra points though - they need people who will be able to report back with any problems as soon as possible and who know enough about computers to be able to rule out any effects from anything else running on their systems.

If you wish to join you'll need to have an account for the folding forums and post in this thread and...

Please include a short statement of your qualifications and why you would like to be added. If you fail to do this, you will not be eligible to join the beta team.

Once again - please do not join just for the chance of extra points, you must be willing and able to contribute to the testing of new work - also the points are not always good for beta work, sometimes for instance work is released with much lower points than it should really have - these are not always fully re-credited, you are also more likely to get EUEs which can result in partial credit worth much less than the share of the WU that was completed

Anyway just thought it was worth making you aware that there is more to folding than a repetitive stream af dull 56 pointers :o
Who's up for some? :D

I would deffo join the beta team but I think I just have too many machines. If you have mostly unsupervised machines scattered all over the place the beta team is not for you. The ideal beta-cruncher, in my eyes, is a single-machine cruncher. You have to pay close attention to each and every WU that comes across your desk, so to speak.

Yes very true Billy - I only have beta work on my main machine for that very reason

You really do need to at least have direct access to any machines that are running beta - it would probably be alright to run beta work on a few machines as long as you monitor them quite closely

I've only had three 364 pointers this week and 2 of them have been on my solitary P4 which only gives a ppd of 160 from them instead of the 500 or so I get from the A64s.

Better week for me, this week.
I've been messing around with the overclocks on most of my machines this week so have probably lost the best part of a days worth of work due to testing etc.
All rigs are now stable and overclocked but I may tinker a little more (I've invested in a couple of SI120s as 2 of them are running a tad warm for my liking).

As always, thanks to Rich for the news and welcome to our solitary newcomer.

Hopefully once the school holidays are over the team output will pick up :)

Stan :)

I'm finally back in the country and have finshed the rebuild of my main computer. This coming week should be a lot better for me. Can't seem to keep my cpu below 54C's though which is annoying for overclocking. (It's 3200xp with a ThermalRight SI-97 so should be cooler than that i thought)
