It's the first Burnout on PC ever! We're pushing accessibility, visuals and control in the greatest Burnout package yet.

That's right - in February 2009 we're bringing Burnout Paradise to the PC with the release of Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box.

It's the original blockbuster console game, including all the amazing FREE downloadable content we've released ever since - all in one beautiful package and for the first time on PC!

Our free updates feature new online game modes, motorcycles, day / night gameplay, dynamic weather, the Burnout Paradise Party Pack and a news page bringing you all the latest Burnout news. And we want to give as many people as possible the chance to experience Burnout Paradise, so we're creating a trial version of the game.

We'll release more information on this at a future date.

Great control and finessed vehicle handling have always been a trademark of the Burnout franchise, which is why we're working on fully configurable controls and adjustable analogue settings for a wide range of possible controller setups - keyboard, pads, wheels and joysticks.

With Burnout Paradise PC, you can also look forward to enhanced visuals. We'remaking use of high-end graphics cards for higher resolution, new effects and a Burnout experience that's configurable across multiple monitors for super widescreen play.

At last, an arcade racer better than the aweful GRID.

I quite liked Grid - it wasn't the best game ever but it was fun. The visuals were superb as well.

Saying that thoguh I haven't played a burnout game in years. Would have been nice if there split screen mode was for multiplaying rather than extended gameplay but you never know, it could work as both!

I ended up not grabbing this when it was originally released - so I might go for it this time around! I love the Burnout series

Very very tempting to get, need to build my new pc before I get this game though, my currently pc would fall over and weep if it tried to play this game

I can already see this game pirated to hell unless it comes with online activation type measures. Still, brave and wonderful of Criterion to finally bring this series to PC. Now I wonder what the system specifications will be like.

How's that stopping piracy  ? It makes next to no difference how many people will pirate it, at worst it'll cause the game to be cracked 12 hours later than usual...

Anyways, I have high hopes for this game, I hope they didn't lie a while ago when they said it ran fine on an 8800 @ 60fps @ 1920x1200...

Even if it does have online activation this will be ripped out.

The only way they are going to force people into buying this game is having a CDKey and superb online features where you need to go online to participate in. Basically making it like trackmania and having massive leagues would help cut down piracy - not by much mind but by a few.

There is also a hint that they are adding restarts to the game:

http://www.criteriongames.com/index.php:

"We'll bring you full details over the coming days, but this overhaul to the game includes the introduction of our all-new in-game website and awesome in-game store. We've also worked on changes to game modes, visuals, the entire vehicle dynamics system. Oh, and we've added a restart !"

Anybody else think this is a good idea! i will probably pick this up again because of this.

I agree, online features restricted by a cd key are the only real way to cut down on piracy in PC games.

If the console releases are anything to go by, then this has sufficient online features to achieve this goal, a good 25% of the challenges require multiple players.
