This isn't the first time we've been teased with glimpses of the 7D, but now we at least have details on the lenses which are a EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens and a longer EF-S 18-135m f/3.5-5.6 IS [canonrumors via Engadget]

^ 18mp sensor, Dual Digic 4, 1080p video, 8fps (Canon 40D is 7.8fps in actual testing so I imagine the 7D will be more than this respectively too), 19point cross type AF (40D is 9 point crosstype all over), built in antishake?, iso6400, 100% viewfinder?,

Looks VERY interesting, that spec is very nice, just hope the price is equally nice because I'm still not yet ready to ditch my 17-55 2.8 IS yet, too damn sharp and fast at 2.8 :p

I was saying to Syke earlier that the 15-85mm IS looks like a fantastic walk about lens/upgrade from kit if it's priced similarly to recent EF-S lenses.

It certainly will be indeed especially considering how close you can get with the 18-55 it will be excellent for closeup work at 85mm no doubt - the kit lens is very sharp too which is a bonus.

news to me, thought it was 6 ish

I am intrigued as to when the 5Dii came out, Canon had a website for a month prior to it being released giving us teasers. But this year, nothing.

5d2 was huge though, and long awaited 3+ years, 7d ,well its like a upgrade to 50d, 40d blah blah, 12 month cycles.

So is the 7D not full frame?

Sorry for being thick but I'm currently sitting in a cafe in Essex so you can't expect much :p

1.6 crop factor, so not full frame

Aside from the fact it can use EF-S lenses, there is no concrete evidence on the size of the sensor. Whilst unlikely, it is possible that it is APS-H or FF and Canon have implemented a folding mirror to clear EF-S lenses and it will have a crop mode.

There's no getting round the fact that 18mp is a hell of a lot of pixels for an APS-C sensor. Canon were pushing it with 15mp on the 50D so a lot of people are questioning how well the 7D will handle 18mp.

The other thought is that this could be Canon's first use of a Foveon style sensor, so physical mega pixel count will be a lot lower. That would be interesting but despite Canon's patents last year on Foveon style technology, I doubt it would be ready for now. But, who knows.

Ultimately, the proof will be in the photos.

Built in wireless flash master as well apparently, which is nice.

I expect that rumour has been quelled. The poster seems to be the most substantial piece of info so far and having a flash master is a pretty big deal so you would expect some mention of it on the poster. Who knows though, tuesday will tell :p
