Well I loathed the first film, though the more I read up on it I can possibly see where the strands can be pulled together, but reading the link I'm actually dating to be a little hopeful. Scott abandoning all his bull**** and admitting it's an Alien prequel and actually commuting to closing the loop with the next 1-2 films is a pretty great thing.

Never thought I would say this after the travesty of to first but I have some hope. Ditching the god awful script writer and going back to the original is also good to see, he contributed to the first film **** up.

2017 release as well! Here's hoping!

I enjoyed Prometheus to be honest.

yes it was a bit silly in places but that is sci-fi for you.

I couldn't stand it at first but when you read up a lot of the dumb **** begins to make a little.

The only unforgivable element was the woman running in a straight line away from the huge ship at the end when a quick hop, skip and jump to the side would keep her alive :p

1 or 2 sequels both properly titled; Alien: Paradise Lost and rumoured Alien: Engineers

My biggest gripe was the farcical attempt at separating it from Alien mythos after the initial panning it got by fans, the fact that they are committing to closing out the story has me completely back onboard.

There was so much stupidity in the film it just gets anoying, stupid on top of stupid on top of stupid... i think some of it was due to scenes being cut... ... some parts were so stupid they made my head hurt

Elaborate please? I hear this quite a lot whenever a discussion about Prometheus comes up.

I enjoyed it a lot and I am a lifelong sci-fi fan. You're putting me off with your high expectations :D

I'm just disappointed that it's pushed Blomkamp's Alien film back for a while.

He's only actually made 1 good film in 3 though, District 9 which is a superb piece of sci fi.

Elysium is a very standard formulaic movie and badly written, Chappie was only watchable because Sharlto Copley did the voice.

I loved Prometheus (probably because I'm an alien fanboy) but I agree the crew were so stupid it was a joke. The guy who talks to and tries to pet the snake thing like a dog, but was previously scared of a skeleton etc.

But I still enjoy watching it hehe.

There is a cut scene from earlier in the movie where Milburn has already seen and handled worms/snakes and they aren't aggressive, it demonstrates why he is so relaxed towards the one that attacks him.

Yeah, sure.
I wasn't interested in it because it's Blomkamp though. I just want an Alien film that has Hicks and Ripley.

How can Prometheus have been set in the same Alien world at all. The technology shown was totally different to the other films which were set after it.

If you are going to do a prequel then rule number 1 is get the continuity correct.
