Yes, Baseband on mine is 04.04.05_G and ZiPhone did mention the 3.9 bootloader.

Keep the sim your using, no need to put the original in. Nope, just plug it in normally and run it. Pretty simple
Cool. One last question. What does the bootloader actually do?

One cool thing I noticed, it shows my phone number in iTunes when I sync the iPhone.
Must be a associated with the 3.9 BL because it disappeared with the 1.1.3 firmware, and I haven't seen it since, which is a shame
