1.1.4 firmware out now

One cool thing I noticed, it shows my phone number in iTunes when I sync the iPhone.

Must be a associated with the 3.9 BL because it disappeared with the 1.1.3 firmware, and I haven't seen it since, which is a shame :(

I noticed it too. Was trying to work out if it was there before, seems not.

Oddly enough, it was present in 1.1.2 but would always say n/a in iTunes when running on a legit contract, then when I jailbroke my brothers iPhone it appeared.

You'd think Apple could implement it correct though :o

I just wish that jailbroken unlock phone cant start to receive picture messages as Text message advising them to go to a web address to view the MMS. I never had this since day one. People say it only works on legit phone

Sorry if i am being really n00bish, just paranoid.
I have mines jailbroken and unlocked on 1.1.3
So do i put it in restore mode (holding lock and home for 20 seconds?)
Plug it into iTunes, let itunes look for an update and download and install it.
then run ZiPhone?
Just don't want to brick it :(

It's alway worked on my jailbroken iPhone for some reason.

Updated to 1.1.4 and everything seems to be working so far. Is there any known problems by updating instead of restoring?

Is restoring achieved by downloading 1.1.4 seperately and holding shift+restore and selecting the file?

just update my new ipod touch with this firmware...

I had a right pain trying to register it, even though my profile said GBR everytime I wanted to register the touch it was saying US, and I couldn't change it!

It restored my messages and bookmarks should do the same for you if you choose to restore from the backup when it asks you.

I dont know whether you lot are updating phones or touches, but either way you are going to struggle with 1.1.4 at the moment. Its barely been broken and your expecting the olds apps to run perfectly, which just wont be the case.

There are fixes for some of the issues but i seriously suggest reading up in much more detail.

Hi,

Yes, I downloaded the 1.1.4 firmware via Itunes ensuring not to click the "download and update" option. Then you need to shift and click restore. Let it go through the motions for 15 minutes or so. After this I started Itunes, started Ziphone 2.5 GUI and clicked "jailbreak only". 1 Minute later and It was done.

Seems a little snappier in places so far. Nothing major to be fair.

Can you tell me the file location of the downloaded firmware via itunes? As I could not find it

Thanks

Yeah.

The "phone number" detail was apparent in 1.1.2, (using an official SIM, running legit) but disappeared in 1.1.3

However, when jailbroken the "phone number" detail has always been apparent.

Silly how Apple couldn't add it for official customers, but yet the jailbroken community gets it :o

In vista it is:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

Dunno about XP. I imagine it will be:

C:\documents and settings\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

Just do a windows search for .ipsw or 1.1.4 and you will find it.

HTH.
