Had a read around, and it seems that it's best not to update just yet. The jailbreak isn't official, some work, some don't. Seems the unlock is even less stable. Is EVH unlocked or on O2?

I am here, just munching food.
I unlocked it using ZiPhone OS X with a legit, but UNactivated SIM, I do have my own activated SIM to throw in though.
Basically, from what I gather it will work if you're already activated but it won't work from fresh.. I have some nice pictures of the process somewhere..
I'd wait until Friday (when ZiBrii patches the unlock) as it's sketchy.

Not sure about the "update" method, I restored.
AFAIK you need to have officially activated the phone in iTunes before it will work.
At least I had to run ZiPhone using my alread-activated legit 02 SIM inside, then swap it out after the process was complete.

I tried it out this morning, jailbroke my Iphone on the full contract and installed shh etc fine.
Out of interest how do you install the installer app after jail-breaking with this, can you download it and manually install ?

Yes, either use iNdependence or use a SSH client such as Panic Transmit, Fugu, Cyberduck.

Hello fellas, if you use the unlock with independence is drops the baseband down to 1.1.2.
I updated via itunes to 1.1.4. Activated and jailbreak with independance. Unlocked so baseband is dropped to 1.1.2. SSH in and get installer working.
Jailbreak again with the iclarified method (uses modified ziphone). Installed BSD subsystem. Setup iclarified source and installed the unlock 1.1.4. Baseband is now sitting at 1.1.4.
I did noticed a drop in sound level, which is remedied by resetting network settings.

I haven't really noticed much of a difference to be honest, when i downloaded it it just said it was bug fixes. Not sure if much has been discovered as to what else it does, im sure someone much more knowledgable than me will post with the answers
You on 1.1.4 now? Might do it later if someone on here's got it running with a non-02 sim.
