***1.4 GHz dual-core Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo***

That is a monster. I wonder if it might be a bit too big though. I don't find the SGS2 too big however, so I guess I'd be fine with it.

4.5" really is the maximum though. Having said that, I'll probably go for the iPhone 5 if they are released at the same time... unfortunately.

I don't see what the iP5 can bring to the table, as IOS5 was a bit meh!

It doesn't really need to bring much more to the table, I value high quality apps more than widgets that never bloody work properly and are a bit of a farce to be honest :p

Still, I'll no doubt end up with both :o

I think what you mean is, it will have a premium feel to it. :)

I lost my X10 at the weekend :o so the search for my next phone is on. Currently using an iPhone 2G, not too shabby for a 4 year old phone but do miss notifications menu and widgets. Any idea of a release date if it is getting announced in a few weeks?

I'll be interested if it doesn't come with the Qualcomm SoC and the SE Timescape and Mediascape crapware.

Could this be the Samsung Galaxy s2 killer .

Samsung is rumoured to be releasing an updated device with SamOLED+ 720p screen resolution and updated SoC as well later this year. The more choice for me the better.:p

Widget are cool :p

They are, but -

  • They tend not to update correctly or they are somewhat erratic when doing so.

  • They aren't always tied into an app so it's yet another thing you have to have syncing.

  • If they do update, it takes a short time before they actually do update when you scroll to the homescreen, and in that time you could have clicked on an app, looked, and gone out of it (almost, anyway).

  • Many of them are butt ugly and I really only like HTC Sense ones, and even those are guilty of the above.
A lot of this Android stuff just makes me very 'meh' lately. Yes, it does a lot of cool things but it's mostly not stuff I every actually use. That coupled with the fact I keep messing about changing layouts when I have no real reason to and gain nothing from it.

Also, the Android app store seems to still be dragging its heels. It's still lacking a lot of decent apps which as I said earlier, counts more than a few home screens in reality.

...the day after I order my SGS2, oh well there's always new tech around the corner..
